Former Milwaukee Braves All-Star shortstop Johnny Logan passed away Friday night at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was 86 years old. Logan came to Milwaukee with the Braves in 1953 and played in the city until he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1961. Logan was a four-time All-Star with the Braves and was an integral part of Milwaukee's World Series Championship team in 1957 and the National League Championship team in 1958. Over 13 years with the Boston Braves, Milwaukee Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates, Logan hit .268 with 93 home runs and 547 RBI. Logan served as an area scout for the Milwaukee Brewers following his playing career and remained a Milwaukee resident for the remainder of his life. Logan was inducted into the Miller Park "Walk of Fame" in July and attended a ceremony at the stadium. He had visited the ballpark as recent as last weekend. Known for his storytelling, Logan often would tell of when he charged Dodgers Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale with Braves Hall of Fame third baseman Eddie Matthews right behind him. That was just one of many Logan would recite, with many of the details not being fit for print. The Brewers released the following statement Friday night: "Johnny Logan was a longtime friend to Milwaukee Baseball. His connection to both the Brewers and the Braves and the Milwaukee community was very strong. Virtually every person associated with the Milwaukee Brewers has been touched by Johnny through his many visits to the ballpark and terrific stories about his time in the game. We will miss Johnny deeply and will never forget his colorful character and personality." Follow Andrew Gruman on Twitter
