After coming back from six runs down to tie the game 7-7 in the top of the ninth, Carlos Torres served up a leadoff home run to Kevin Frandsen in the bottom of the inning and the Mets lost to the Phillies by the score of 8-7. Dillon Gee started for the Mets and he got ripped for six runs in five innings, including two home runs to his nemesis Ryan Howard and one to Michael Young. Howard is now 7-for-15 with six home runs and 14 RBIs in his career against Gee. The Met righthander allowed eight hits, walked none and struck out four and saw his ERA rise to 4.82 for the season. Greg Burke allowed a run in the sixth when after a single by Ben Revere, he stole second and third before scoring on a throwing error by John Buck. Josh Edgin, Scott Rice and David Aardsma combined for two scoreless innings of relief. Jordany Valdespin drove in three including one on a solo homer in the ninth of Jonathan Papelbon to start the Mets two-run rally that tied the game. Daniel Murphy had a pair of hits...
