By Shawn Ramsey FOXSports.com 1 Rangers 20-12 1 Yu Darvish is leading the league in strikeouts, adding 14 Ks against the Red Sox on Sunday to help the Rangers complete the sweep. The lineup is back to its usual hitting ways, making Texas a tough opponent. 2 Red Sox 21-11 -1 The Red Sox ran into a wall in Texas, suffering its first sweep of the season. David Ortiz continues to be the leader of Bostons lineup after a late start coming off the DL. 3 Cardinals 20-11 3 The Cardinals looked a bit rough last week losing three straight. Since then, they haven't lost, picking up a series win against the Reds and sweeping a four-game series in Milwaukee to take control of the NL Central. 4 Braves 19-12 -1 The Braves are about to get even better with the return of catcher Brian McCann from the DL. With a surplus of catchers, Atlanta will experiment to find some playing time for Aprils NL Rookie of the Month Evan Gattis. 5 Giants 19-13 2 Matt Cain ended the longest winless streak of his career, picking up his first win of the season as the Giants swept the Dodgers at home. Pablo Sandoval is one of the leagues hottest hitters. 6 Tigers 19-11 -2 The Tigers scored 37 runs in a four-game sweep of the Astros; reigning AL MVP Miguel Cabrera is leading the MLB in batting average; and Justin Verlander is lights out, even flirting with another no-hitter on Sunday. 7 Royals 17-11 2 Alex Gordon is holding up a strong Royals lineup, and the front offices offseason moves to improve the rotation are paying off after one month in the season. 8 Orioles 19-13 1 The pitching staff may be close to turning a corner after a rough start. Freddy Garcia took a no-hitter into the seventh inning Saturday after getting called up to replace Zach Britton in the rotation. 9 Yankees 18-12 3 Robinson Cano is holding up a battered Yankees lineup, and the replacements for the usual stars continue to play at a high level. Travis Hafner is enjoying resurgence, avoiding injuries that have plagued him the last few years. 10 Rockies 18-13 -6 As the weather warms up in Colorado, the Rockies have started to cool off. The lineup is still packing a punch, however, with Troy Tulowitzki leading the way. 11 Athletics 18-15 -1 Oakland bounced back from a rough stretch, taking two series wins last week, including a 19-inning marathon against the division rival Angels that landed three players on the DL, giving the As a chance to display their depth. 12 Nationals 17-15 -1 Young stars Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper were a little banged up last week but managed to play anyway, helping keep the Nationals afloat. 13 Reds 18-15 Shin-Soo Choo has excelled as the Reds new leadoff hitter, making the lineup even more dangerous. 14 Pirates 17-14 The Pirates took a step back after losing two straight series last week. Leadoff hitter Starling Marte is paying off for the Bucs, as he continues to manufacture runs. 15 Diamondbacks 17-15 Not a good week for the D-backs, who won just one game while facing two divisional opponents. Patrick Corbin has been a bright spot in the rotation after winning the No. 5 starter job in spring training. 16 Rays 14-17 3 After an underwhelming 11-11 year in 2012, Matt Moore has shown he has what it takes to be a top-of-the-rotation pitcher with an undefeated record, leading the Rays staff in strikeouts and ERA. 17 Brewers 14-16 -1 So much for the hot-streak that put the Brewers back in consideration. Since a nine-game winning streak, Milwaukee has collected only three wins in 11 games. 18 Indians 15-14 8 The Indians' pitching is still a problem. 19 Dodgers 13-18 -1 The Dodgers finally got back one of their big bats last week, only to lose it again as Hanley Ramirez went right back to the DL after playing in only four games. 20 Mets 12-16 -3 David Wright, John Buck and Matt Harvey have made headlines for the Mets this season. Too bad teams need more than three good players. 21 Phillies 15-18 -1 Roy Halladay finally admitted that his shoulder wasnt at 100 percent, perhaps explaining the former Cy-Young winners pitching woes this season. 22 Mariners 15-18 3 The Mariners are probably wishing they could send Felix Hernandez and Hisashi Iwakuma out every other day to the mound. Unfortunately thats not the way it works. Seattles three other starters arent holding their own. 23 Angels 11-20 -3 The Angels should have a good chance to turn around their fortunes this week with series against the Astros and White Sox. Something needs to be done quickly for the team to dig out of the big hole they have landed in. 24 White Sox 13-17 1 Taking two wins from the red-hot Rangers makes the White Sox look better, but this team is still having problems hitting. Adam Dunns .146 batting average should be enough to explain. 25 Twins 13-15 -1 An underperforming lineup paired with a struggling pitching staff is a recipe for disaster in the majors. 26 Padres 14-18 2 The Padres have had two good weeks in a row, collecting eight wins in 11 games. If San Diego keeps winning, it could be right back in the race after a rough start. 27 Blue Jays 12-21 -6 Things cant be worse for an organization that had such high hopes in the offseason. If the Blue Jays dont start finding the win column soon, expect big changes before the trade deadline. 28 Cubs 12-20 -1 For how well the starting pitching has performed, the bullpen has been equally bad. The Cubs need to find a quick fix with a weeks worth of tough opponents ahead. 29 Marlins 10-23 1 The Marlins slammed a banged-up Roy Halladay on Sunday, giving rookie Jose Fernandez his first career win. Despite Sundays big win, Miami is still lacking offensive power. 30 Astros 8-24 -1 Philip Humber threw a perfect game last season with the White Sox, but he looks far removed from that performance, sporting a 0-7 record with an 8.82 ERA through his first seven games with the Astros.
