On Sunday MASN's FP Santangelo made an impressive one-handed catch of a Xavier Nady foul ball into the MASN booth at Fenway. Oh! Speaking of MASN, here's the Washington Post's Thomas Boswell on the MASN-Angelos-Nats deal:
Just as the Nats’ profile is skyrocketing, the argument between the Nationals and Peter Angelos’s MASN network over the value of Washington’s cable TV rights has met yet another delay. The sport’s revenue fairness committee has delayed giving its opinion of the fair market value of the Nats’ TV rights until July 1.Talk about luck. The longer the haggling, the more likely the value of the Nats rights will jump. The 2012 payment is $29 million. The reset figure the Nats seek is $108 million per year for five seasons. Nats to MASN: Keep stalling, the price goes up. (via Washington Post, 6/10/2012)
But back to FP -- here's the video of his catch (and a few screencaps -- via MASN):

In case you haven’t heard, the Washington Nationals are a thing now. No, really. At 36-23, they’ve got the second best record in baseball, the best team ERA, and as much as it pains me to say it, this little thing called Bryce Harper, luckily sans “skullet,” which makes it hurt a little less.
Here’s the thing about the Nats though, after Harper they don’t hit very well...
Nationals pitcher Gio Gonzalez needs a date to his team’s gala on Saturday, and he’s turning to Twitter for candidates.
Hey I need a date for the gala on Saturday night, an sexy single ladies interested…..
— Gio Gonzalez (@GioGonzalez47) June 11, 2012
Gio has a pretty simple checklist going: sexy, single, and 21-or-over. That’s not too much to ask for, is it?
Washington Nationals rookie Bryce Harper returned to the lineup Monday night, one day after he didn't start because of a sore back.
The 19-year-old Harper came on as a pinch hitter and scored the decisive run as the Nationals beat Boston 4-3 Sunday to complete a three-game sweep. After drawing a walk, Harper scored from first base on a ninth-inning double by Roger Bernadina...
Even the rich and (semi) famous have trouble getting dates from time to time, but I don’t think propositioning your 30,000 plus Twitter followers is the best way of remedying the situation. Washington pitcher Gio Gonzalez thinks otherwise, which is why he took to the social media site to find some single and attractive female to accompany him to the team’s 2012 Dream Gala,...
(Edwin Jackson seen here shaking his head 'no' to Davey Johnson as he walked off the mound at the end of the 8th inning. Screencap via MASN/TV.)
"Edwin Jackson pitched one heck of a ball game...he was shaking his head at me. I thought that meant he was done after eight, I had my bullpen ready. He came in and said no, I want to go, I want to finish this...
At Offbase, we've had plenty of fun with Jim Riggleman in the past. Once, I even yelled out my patented 'Stinkelman!' at a Nationals-Braves game.Anyway, I sit down for an evening of Double-A baseball in Birmingham Saturday and who is managing the visiting Pensacola Blue Wahoos? Mr. Riggleman, of course."Jim! Can I get a picture?.......one more?" was probably...
Alright...I'll say it. This sucks.Former Major Leaguer (and all around good guy) Matt Stairs' home was broken into while he was away to be inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame. And the worst part about it, dude thinks it was targeted."Well I've got a feeling they knew what they wanted. I believe they were looking for the World Series ring and, of...
No better way to cap off the weekend in Boston than Bryce Harper scoring from first in the ninth inning on Sunday on a Roger Bernadina double to score the game winning run. Here's the video:

Meanwhile, in case you're wondering how Harper spent his first game *not* starting since his callup six weeks ago?
Nationals Sweep Sox as Sox Fall below .500 again
Monday June 11, 2012- I’m sure I’m like most New England Sport fans this weekend all hyped up on the Celtic’s game 7 on Saturday Night and unfortunately they lost. The Sox however didn’t give much excitement to “us” fans this weekend. The Sox only scored 9 runs and accumulated 25 k’s and were embarrassed at home. The...
Recently on June 8th, Stephen Strasburg got his 8th win of the season. Personally he is the best overall young pitcher in the MLB. Pitching at only 23 years old, we havent seen a pitcher like this since Felix Hernandez and I belive Strasburg could be even better. Strasburg has 3 true pitches, a zooming fastball, a nasty 12-6 curve, and a un-hittable changeup. He changes speeds...
The Washington Nationals entered Boston on Friday without a single win at Fenway Park in their franchise’s history, including their time in Montreal. After three games in America’s oldest ballpark, the 2012 Nats made a huge change to that information. The Nats swept the Red Sox in a three-game series, moving them to 12-games above .500 on the season. Coming to you from the...
It's no secret that the Washington Nationals have great pitching. And the last two days, the Red Sox have had to go up against not only the Nats' top two hurlers, but two of the top young pitchers in the game. The Sox had never seen Stephen Strasburg before Friday, but they have had a chance to look at Gio Gonzalez while he was with Oakland, so the team clearly needs to find...
In this week's episode, we talk about the Washington Nationals' sweep of the Boston Red Sox and their pending series against the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Rogers Centre. We talk about Adam LaRoche as a trade chip and the possibility of the Nationals wearing Montreal Expos jerseys against the Jays. That and more in this episode of Nats Talk On The Go.
