Grady Sizemore has resumed baseball activities and may be available to teams by the middle of the summer. Sizemore underwent microfracture surgery last September in his right knee, and while his career was in doubt, he has yet to experience any setbacks. The former Indian was once a premiere outfielder but has seen his playing time derailed by injuries since the end of 2009.Playing in just 104 games in 2010 and 2011 combined, Sizemore hit .220/.280 and then missed all of 2012, a span of injuries officially putting his future in doubt. However, if Sizemore were to make it all the way back healthy, he is not expected to be without a long list of suitors. Many different teams could use an upgrade in the outfield and due to Sizemore’s recent lack of resume, he can probably be had at an affordable, minor league price.Early sources indicate the Mets may be at the front of the line to pursue Sizemore, who’s speed and defense would play well into what they are trying to build in the future, and on a very stingy payroll. The Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins,  Houston Astros and  the Philadelphia Phillies  may have interest as well.Though the Yankees currently have four outfielders and Curtis Granderson due back sometime this year from injury, Sizemore can be intriguing with Granderson and Boesch signed through this season and Ichiro Suzuki, Vernon Wells and Brett Gardner all signed only through 2014.Of course, an AL team may present a better situation for Sizemore in the event he would need to DH on occasion, but his complete health status, as well as his return, remain in doubt for now.

Lack of left-handed relief proving to be costly for Indians

The offense for the Cleveland Indians has had its ups and downs this season, but for the most part it has been an above average unit. The defense has been a strength as the outfield has swallowed up numerous fly balls. Nick Swisher has played gold glove defense at first base and Yan Gomes has been brilliant behind the plate. There's no shortage of right-handed relief options with...

WFNY Stats & Info: Jason Giambi’s slugging tear

Last weekend, I wrote a tongue-in-cheek WFNY Stats & Info post about a prop bet (h/t @neatgibson): What would be more, Jason Giambi’s home runs or Cleveland Browns wins? Well, ever since, Giambi has been on an absolute tear for the Indians. He tied Tuesday afternoon’s game against Cincinnati with a eighth-inning home run. He was the star of Thursday evening’s game against...

Second Thoughts: Game #54: Rays 9, Indians 2

Not Much To Say Pretty much all anyone on either side can say about this game is ‘glad it’s over’. After three rain delays totaling nearly five hours, anything pretty much could’ve gone right or wrong for either team. Unfortunately, the Indians came up on the short end of the stick as the team’s left-handed relief surrendered eight of the nine runs to the Rays. While a...
