The Padres extended their win streak to seven games, sweeping Arizona on the road after sweeping the Pirates at home. The win on Sunday raised their record to 15-9 in August clinching their second straight winning month with four games to go. After never sweeping the Diamondback in Chase Field (formerly Bank One Ballpark) since their inaugural season in 1998, the Friars have now done it twice in 2012. The Padres offense scored at least five runs in all three games, with wins of 5-0, 9-3 and 5-4. Yonder Alonso earned the Friarhood player of the series, getting a pair of hits in each game. He went 6-12, with four runs batted in and a home run. The Padres will head back to San Diego for a quick three game home stand against the Braves before heading to Colorado on Friday.
