Tonight, they'll kick off the five-game homestand with the first game of a three-game set with the Baltimore Orioles at historic Fenway Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on NESN in the Red Sox television market. If you live in the Orioles television market, you can catch the game on MASN. If you can't catch the television broadcast, you can always listen to it on the Red Sox radio network. Jon Lester makes his team-leading 31st start and what should be his final Fenway Park start of 2012 tonight. In his previous 30 starts, Lester is 9-11 with a 4.95 ERA. He's made two starts against the O's this season and has no record with a 3.75 ERA (5 ER/12 IP). Lester has not lost to the Orioles in 20 career starts as he is 14-0 with a 2.49 ERA. Recap: Iglesias got a hit!

Jon Lester pitched an OK game.  The offense couldn't get across the plate.  Sox lose 4-2  to Baltimore. The good news is that the Sox didn't lose this game in any kind of heart-breaking fashion.  Just a good old boring loss.  Not much to say about the game, really.  Lester threw 7 mediocre innings, giving up 8 hits, walking 3 O's with only 3 K's.  All 4...

'Blackjack' Run of Success Ends for Jon Lester After First Career Loss to Orioles in 21 Starts (Video)

All good things, they say, must come to an end. For Jon Lester, his good fortune against the Baltimore Orioles came to an abrupt halt on Friday night. The Red Sox left-hander lost to the Orioles for the first time in 21 career starts, dropping his record to 14-1 against the Birds. Yes, the numbers are still good, but if this isn't a sign that the Orioles aren't who they used...

Lester Gets His First Loss to the O's

The Sox faced off against the O's last night and for the first time in his career Jon Lester ended up with a loss against the Birds.  Lester had a lead for a very short period of time, but wasn't able to hold onto it.  Lester took the mound and the bats even got him a tiny lead in the 3rd.  Pedro Ciriaco hit an RBI double to score Nava.  Sox 1-0.  Lester gave that lead...

Red Sox Live Blog: Jon Lester Looks to Go Bird Hunting As Boston Opens Final Homestand of 2012

8 a.m. ET: Is it over yet? That's how much of New England feels about the 2012 Red Sox season. But not the Red Sox. After taking two of three in Toronto last weekend, Boston came within two outs of taking three of four from the Rays before splitting the four-game series in St. Petersburg. Now, the Red Sox (69-82) return to Fenway Park for a three-game series with the Orioles...

Jon Lester Can't Execute Against Matt Wieters, Loses to Baltimore for First Time (Video)

Jon Lester did something against the Orioles on Friday night that he had never done before. He lost. And it was primarily because of Matt Wieters. Lester came into the game the winner of 14 consecutive decisions against Baltimore, but Wieters made sure he wouldn't make it 15. Wieters hit a single to right field off of Lester in the fourth inning that scored two runs and then...

Saturday Red Sox Travesty - 9/22

I think we all thought that when the Baltimore Orioles got off to their hot start to the 2012 MLB season, we all thought they'd fade away. Of course, we are the same people who thought the Boston Red Sox would turn their season around. Well folks, the Orioles haven't gone away and we all know what's happened with the Red Sox. Behind three RBIs from Matt Wieters,...

Orioles-Red Sox Preview

Pressure certainly doesn't seem to be bothering the Baltimore Orioles as they chase their first playoff berth since 1997. Baltimore is coming off a much-deserved day off following two extra-inning...

Sprint to the Finish. Sort Of

It might be a bad sign when you're watching a game, and one of the highlights is a home run hit the night before. That said, I did enjoy seeing the replay of the ritual of the team ignoring Jose Igelesias (pictured) after his first major league homer. They didn't keep it up for long, but you can't blame them, they could use some good news.Oh, and they lost 4-2. It was...
