The Great Big 2012 Blue Jays Forecast Series, Part 3: Kelly Johnson
With spring training officially just under a month away, I thought now would be a good time to start a series of projections on what the 2012 Toronto Blue Jays might look like. Each day (don’t hold me to this), I will profile a 2012 Blue Jays starter, closing with a set of numbers based on my (usually positive) expectations. Today, we continue moving around the diamond with a look...

Morrow, Jays agree to $21M, 3-year deal
Pitcher Brandon Morrow and the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a $21 million, three-year contract that avoided salary arbitration.
Morrow gets $4 million this year and $8 million in each of the following two seasons. Toronto has a $10 million option for 2015 with a $1 million buyout.
The 27-year-old Morrow was 11-11 last season with a 4.72 ERA.
But the right-hander also set career...
Jays’ Off-Season Shopping Wraps with Vintage Buys
As if managing the day-to-day operations of a baseball club and facing questions about his (lack of) off-season activity aren’t stressful enough, Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos is growing self-conscious about his age as he approaches the big 3-5 this year.
Okay, I don’t know that to be true whatsoever, but how else do you explain the sudden stockpiling of greybeards to fill...
Blue Jays (Once Again) Complete New-Look Bullpen With Francisco Cordero Signing
…and here I was, thinking that Alex Anthopoulos was done revamping the Blue Jays bullpen, after the team added Darren Oliver and Jason Frasor to the mix.
It looks as though the Blue Jays GM has changed gears after it became clear that the price to pay for quality starters (ie. Gio, Latos) was out of the team’s range; if you can’t go for a front-line starter, why...
Blue Jays agree to terms with RHP Cordero
The Toronto Blue Jays agreed to terms with closer Francisco Cordero on a one-year deal worth $4.5 million on Tuesday.
Cordero became a free agent after the Cincinnati Reds decided to pay his $1 million buyout. The righthander posted a 5-3 mark with a 2.45 ERA and converted 37 of 43 save opportunities last season, including 20 of 21 after the All-Star break.
The 36-year-old Cordero...
Blue Jays ink starter Morrow to a three-year deal
TORONTO (AP) -- Pitcher Brandon Morrow and the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to a $21 million, three-year contract that avoided salary arbitration.
Top 15 Prospects: Toronto Blue Jays
Fans can say what they will about the Jays efforts in attracting big ticket free agents but there aren’t many organizations in baseball that can match Toronto’s dedication to scouting and player development. Since taking over the general manager’s role, Alex Anthopoulos has rejuvenated the minor league system – through trades, the draft and international free...
