Strasburg fan with the glittering jersey watching his favorite player hit. Hottest day in Atlanta history. Hottest game I've ever attended. We had awesome seats thanks to Alison's dad's work, and Kolbi and her EO-lovin' hubby came along. I think my brain melted in this game, because here's what I remember: The guy above and his sparkly #37 jersey, Strasburg having the highest batting average on the team, Strasburg coming out of the game with heat issues, and Mike Minor battling like there was no tomorrow. I'll post a few pics below, but make sure you look at the gallery! socks up Marteen Alison requested some pics of Wang. This is the only good one I got. warrior laid down a perfect bunt Most of us thought tt was too hot to touch other people, but Marteen totally hugged Uggla when Dan brought out his glove & hat. socks up Meds fraternizing circle change Well, she can't say she didn't know what she was getting into... Game Day Pictures: Braves vs Cubs 7-2-12

Kolbi likes to sit here. And she likes to swipe my camera. No complaints. Kolbi really likes sitting out here by the bullpen, "in their laps," she says. It does feel really close, but since most of them don't sit on the bench for the whole game anymore it's not a huge deal. I went early and took BP pictures, as usual. Would it kill these boys to smile now and...

Every baseball fan would love the opportunity to catch a foul ball at a major league stadium. It's a prize that some see as a mark of dedication to the sport. With so many surrounding fans and so many spots for the ball to be hit, you have to pray to the baseball gods for one to come your way. Many people wouldn't hesitate to leap at the rare chance to snag a foul ball. But...

Nationals' Desmond justifying manager's faith in him

Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson tends to set the bar high for his players, and shortstop Ian Desmond is one of the players that Johnson has spoken highly of since taking over as the team's manager late last June. There were some doubters of Desmond, who could be inconsistent at times on offense and defense. But all that has changed this year. Desmond has earned...

Chipper Jones to replace Kemp on NL roster

Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones has been named by 2012 National League All-Star manager Tony La Russa to replace Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers on the N.L.s active roster for the 83rd All-Star Game, Major League Baseball announced today. Video Breakdown: The One Handed Baby Holding Catch

There was a fantastic catch in last night's Braves - Cubs game, by a fan in the stands who was also holding a baby. As the father of a super-squirmy 6 month old, to me this feat is more impressive than Paula Deen willingly steaming broccoli. Check it out:
&lt</span...

Bryce Harper pied while wearing his shirt

(Video above via @JakeRussell) Because nothing says "Fourth of July" like Bryce Harper in his official Under Armour "Don't Be a Clown Bro" t-shirt, getting a shaving cream pie in the face from Jayson Werth on MLB Network after the Nats beat down the Giants. Bryce Harper takes shaving cream pie to the face during interview (Video)

After helping the Nationals beat the Giants on the 4th of July, Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was doing a postgame interview with the fine folks over at the MLB Network. During said interview, teammate Jayson Werth got him with an epic shaving cream pie before Harper could provide a response to a question about Chipper Jones:

Do The Nationals' All-Stars Deserve The Honor?

In a word, absolutely. Stephen Strasburg, Gio Gonzalez and Ian Desmond were all selected this week to play in the All-Star Game, and they deserve to go just as much as all the other players who got the nod. Ian Desmond: The Budding Star Along with fellow shortstops Rafael Furcal (St. Louis Cardinals) and Starlin Castro (Chicago Cubs), Desmond was selected to play for former...

Bryce Harper gets a pie to the face in his new trademarked shirt (Video)

That’s a clown pie, bro. Jayson Werth gave the 19-year-old a shaving cream pie to the face after the Nationals defeated the Giants 9-4 on July 4th. It’s all fun and games right now in Washington as they have the best record in the NL and a four-game lead in the East. The Nationals haven’t seen this much potential since, I don’t know, 1994 when the team was in Montreal...
