Apologies for the late and brief recap, but life got in the way (and probably will continue to do so for the next two weeks, so content could be a bit sparse for a bit). Let's get right to recapping yet another "uplifting" Angel performance:
Jerome Williams is officially on the chopping block. He was just awful last night and the Angels aren't going to tolerate that for very long with Garrett Richards continuing to look good. The team can't be eager to deplete their rotation depth by releasing Williams, but they can't stomach more performance like this. At best, he gets two more starts to clean up his act.
Other people facing job security issues include everyone in middle relief, but none more so than Hisanori Takahashi. He cannot get anyone out right now. Plain and simple. He almost needs to be demoted just to save Scioscia from himself since he uses Taka so much. I see no reason not to hand his job to Brad Mills and see if he can't do it a...

The Best of Home Opener PUJOLS Jersey Modifications
Modified Albert Pujols jerseys. It’s a trend that we’ve documented (here, here and here) over the past two months of Spring Training and a movement that we fully expected to reach a critical mass during the Home Opener at Busch Stadium this past weekend. Last week, we challenged our JSF fan hunters to capture this [...]
Angels' Morales mired in 1-for-23 slump
It turns out the toughest part of Kendrys Morales' comeback might still be ahead of him.
After missing nearly two years while recovering from a fractured left ankle, Morales returned to the Angels' lineup to start the 2012 season. After a successful run in Cactus League play, Morales had five hits in his first seven at-bats this season including a four-hit game against the...

What should Erick Aybar get in a contract extension?
If recent reports are to be believed, it is only a matter of time before the Angels lock up Erick Aybar to a lucrative contract extension. Nothing is official yet, but reports are circling around a contract somewhere in the neighborhood of five years and $50 million for Aybar. That seems to be what Aybar is asking for, anyway. But is that what he should get?
We could debate...
Game Recap 4/16/12 -- Happy Happy Joy Joy - Angels 6 Athletics 0
Well who would have guessed it, the Angels actually have a middle of the order, what a surprise. The day off did Kendrys wonders apparently, 3-4 with a HR and 4 RBI's makes you wonder if he's finally coming back around. I know one game is too soon to throw around claims that Kendrys is finally back to true Kendrys form again, but if he can keep raking throughout this home...

Jackie Robinson Day
By Brian Waller, AngelsWin.com Columnist
On this day in 1947, Jackie Robinson broke the "color barrier" in Major League Baseball as he made his debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Baseball may be referred to as simply a game but the fact of the matter is that there are few things as closely tied to American culture and society as baseball. The sport is synonymous with...

MLB Update: Angels/Yankees No Match For Red Sox/Yankees; Ratings Flat For FOX Season Debut
Though it was a high-profile matchup in its own right, Sunday’s matchup between the Angels and Yankees was no match for Red Sox/Yankees a year earlier. The Angels/Yankees ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ game drew 2.830 million viewers on ESPN Sunday night, down 40% from Red Sox/Yankees on the second weekend of the season last year (4.697M), but up 32% from Cardinals/Brewers in 2010...
Angels 6, Athletics 0
Kendrys Morales hit his first homer in nearly two years and drove in four runs, and Jered Weaver recorded his 1,000th career strikeout while pitching five-hit ball into the seventh inning of the Los Angeles Angels' 6-0 victory over the Oakland Athletics on Monday night.
Morales followed his three-run homer in the first inning with an eighth-inning double to score Albert Pujols...

Mike Trout - OF, Triple-A Salt Lake City (LAA) - .435/.491/.652, 1 HR, 3 3B - Mike Trout not only does "Blue Steel" really well, but he has started out the season with a 10-game hit streak, is 4-for-5 in stolen bases, and doesn't belong in the minor leagues anymore. I don't want to put him on this list ever again. Yet for some reason, Vernon...
Athletics-Angels Preview

Haren will try to help the Angels win consecutive games for the first time this season Tuesday night against the Oakland Athletics.
After going 2-4 at Minnesota and New York, Los Angeles (4-6) avoided a third consecutive home loss with a 6...
