Wanna feel old? It’s 1990′s RETRO night. It seems like yesterday we sported neon colors, plaid shirts, swishy pants, and mullets. We enjoyed comedy sitcoms like Full House while teenaged girls screamed over the Backstreet Boys. Or was that just me?
Anyway, the Phillies are going all out for 90′s retro night. Not only will they be wearing their early-90s jerseys, they also have a record well-below .500! Their sellout streak ended, so empty seats are a possibility. Scott Rolen is even in the house!
The 90′s weren’t complete terrible for the Phillies. Minus the whole Joe Carter thing, the 1993 team was a whacky interesting bunch who captured the hearts of Philadelphia.
So get together a fan club, and celebrate the 1990s in Phillies style! And now for the obligatory p...

Domonic Brown had half of the hits for the Philadelphia Phillies last night during his one-man show. How have the prior local fixtures done on the west coast?
TAL’S HANDY CAPS
I will publish after every game that is not washed out. I will have many summer-long highlights of puzzle pieces, especially important after drubbings and defeats. If you were directed...
The Reds won and ensured no less than a split of the 4-game series against the Phillies last night.
Bronson Arroyo faced the minimum number of batters through the first four innings, gave up a home run in the fifth to Domonic Brown and then went back to facing the minimum until the eighth inning. Prior to this, the Phillies had owned Arroyo, but he really demonstrated...
Vance Worley fills out the bottom of the rotation, making starts like yesterday’s for the Philadelphia Phillies. Are the young guns in San Francisco getting the job done? The Apocalyptic Horsemen Stats are in my recent coverage linked below.
TAL’S HANDY STATS
I am alternating a game-day 2012 ERA For The NL East and a 2012 ERA For The MLB 5. See link section...
Vance Worley didn't pitch badly tonight. Bronson Arroyo just pitched stupendously. (AP)
When the Phillies came to the ballpark tonight, they stood no chance. That’s because Bronson Arroyo was pitching, and pitching extremely well. Mix in Aroldis Chapman to close it out, and this one was over before it started. The final score was3-2, but the gap between the two teams was almost...

When Bronson Arroyo took the mound against the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday night, it should have been a recipe for success for the home team. In his last six regular season starts against the Phillies, Arroyo was 0-6 with a 10.29 ERA. Arroyo faced the Phils twice in 2011. He allowed 15 runs on 18 hits in those two games. But the only thing that stood in between...
In Vance's previous four starts, he had gone less than six innings and had allowed four or more earned runs. Vance would go six again, but it was a much better start than his last.
While Bronson Arroyo was tossing a no-hitter through five innings, the Reds were backing him up with some offense. In the fifth, Drew Stubbs singled to right to score Ryan Hanigan. Stubbs later...
A sure way to tell this is a special season – not even the
Philadelphia curse can keep the Reds at bay. The Redlegs found a way to win in
the City of Brotherly Love once again Wednesday night, holding on for a 3-2
Bronson Arroyo (10-7) was awesome on the hill, the Reds had
just enough timely hitting and Aroldis Chapman held on in the ninth
The Cincinnati Reds had to wait quite awhile before finally celebrating another victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
Bronson Arroyo hopes it's his turn next.
The Reds starter seeks his first win over the Phillies in more than 12 years when the teams continue their series Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
Cincinnati had dropped seven straight and 15 of the last 16 meetings...

Tonight's game remained scoreless up until the top of the fifth inning, when the Reds took a two-run advantage on RBI singles by outfielders Drew Stubbs and Ryan Ludwick to right fielder Domonic Brown. Up until two outs in the bottom half of the fifth...
You know those annoying Facebook macros going around with a picture of the Angry Beavers on it or whatever, with a big caption reading “ONLY 90S KIDS WOULD REMEMBER THIS CLICK LIKE” across the top? The Philadelphia Phillies made an entire night out of that.Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to Brandon Bronson Arroyo was ’90s Retro Night at Citizens Bank Park, and as the mascot-loving...
