Geren to be next A's Manager

In a preliminary report, the A's have decided to hire bench coach Rob Geren as their new manager. The A's surprisingly fired Ken Macha after they were eliminated in the ALCS by the Tigers. GM Billy Beane and Geren were high school rivals and now have become close friends. They believe their close relationship will help get the A's on the right page, but it may be a source for controversy considering the way Macha was booted out.
