The Colorado Rockies are still searching for a manager and it appears that the not yet retired Jason Giambi is a serious candidate. We’ve heard he was an option for a while but after today you’ve got to think he has a legitimate chance to get the job. Rockies senior VP of operations, Bill Geivett called Jason a “very viable candidate for the position”.
During a conference call with Rockies’ season-ticket holders that included team owner Dick Monfort and general manager Dan O’Dowd, Geivett said, “I have known Jason for a long time and I know a lot of the aspects … he can bring to a team, and (about) his ability, as far as his communication skills.
“I know that everybody here has gotten a sense of that. (Those) that had interaction with him probably feel the same way I do. And that is that he is a very, very viable candidate for this position.” (Denver Post)
