The Giants (9-4-2) travel to Hohokam Park tomorrow to take on the Chicago Cubs (6-6). The Cubs beat the G-men 5-4 on Tuesday. Eric Surkamp (1-1, 6.14) will square off against Matt Garza (1-1, 16.20). The game can be heard via web stream at MLB.com’s online Media Center.
NOTES: Belt is now batting .375 this spring. Aubrey Huff (who did not play tonight) is at .280 … Second baseman Charlie Culberson was optioned to the Giants’ minor league camp … Ryan Vogelsong could face live hitters on Saturday. The right-hander’s arm responded very well to a 50-pitch bullpen session yesterday. He’s expected to get his first Cactus League start next week … Freddy Sanchez is <a title="San Jose Mercury News: "San Francisco Giants second baseman Freddy Sanchez still not ready to play in a game"" href="http://www.mercurynews.com/giants/ci_20185680/san-francisco-giants-second-baseman-freddy-sanchez-still/" target="_blank">still not 100 percent where he needs to be in order to get into a game defensively. He is still having problems making the hard pivot throw across his body at second base (Ryan Theriot, your spot on the roster is secure) … Manager Bruce Bochy‘s son, Brett Bochy, was one of the relievers who traveled with the team to Peoria today. He did not pitch tonight, though.
