The San Francisco Giants (9-4-2) visit the Chicago Cubs (6-6) at Hohokam Park today in a Cactus League match-up.

The Cubs, you may remember, beat the G-men 5-4 on Tuesday.

An interesting tidbit: Mike Fontenot and Ryan Theriot will be the Giants’ starting middle infielders today. Both played together with the Cubs from 2007–2010. Angel Pagan played with Theriot in Chicago (2006–’07), too, but he’s not getting the start today.

Eric Surkamp (1-1, 6.14) will square off against Matt Garza (1-1, 16.20). The game can be heard via web stream at MLB.com’s online Media Center starting at 1:05 p.m. (PT).

Pre-game notes: Both teams are going with NL rules (pitchers will bat) … The Cubs held their first-ever spring training bunt contest this morning with David DeJesus winning the “prestigious” award … The Giants sent Gary Brown and Roger Kieschnick to their minor league camps today and now have 53 players remaining on their Cactus League roster … Buster Posey will be in the squat today and is expected to play 4, maybe 5, innings … The daily report on Freddy Sanchez tells us that The Mole will not be playing second base until Sunday, at the earliest … Today is Brian Wilson‘s 30th birthday—fact!
