The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants have always had a volatile rivalry while doing battle in the National League West.
Lately though it seems the two fan bases have ratcheted it up the volatility. According to the Big Lead, punches and bottles were thrown during a brawl between fans from both teams Saturday night in the stands at AT&T Park,
No word yet on how many were arrested.
BEST OF MAXIM
Ryan Vogelsong has not gotten off to a great start and it lead me to take a look at what has and has not been different with him this season compared to previously with the Giants.
I looked into the statistics and I think for the most part he has been a victim of bad luck.
Here is what I wrote for Bay Area Sports Guy:
When you look at the peripheral numbers things really...
Not only is Matt Kemp one of the best, most dynamic players in Major League Baseball, but it turns out he’s a pretty amazing human being, too.
During Sunday’s contest between the bitter California rival Dodgers and Giants, Los Angeles third base coach Tim Wallach noticed a young disabled Dodgers fan along the third base line among the sea of San Francisco supporters at AT&...
Matt Kemp became an Internet sensation after an impromptu gesture he made toward a cancer-stricken Dodgers fan attending a game at San Francisco's AT&T Park.
The Dodgers' Gold Glove center fielder was informed of the disabled fan's plight by third base coach Tim Wallach during a 4-3 loss to the Giants on Sunday. After the game, Kemp went to the other side of the...
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp did a wonderful thing for a dying boy in San Francisco on Monday.
On Monday, Dodgers third base coach Tim Wallach informed Kemp that there was a young man in attendance at AT&T Park that is a huge Dodgers fan.
He also happens to list Kemp as his favorite player.
The horrible thing is that he is dying and that he cannot speak.
From a fantasy perspective I--like many guys out there--have always been a fan of Matt Kemp (sorry man, I'm an Astros and Rangers fan). However, after watching this clip of what he did during last weekend's Dodgers/Giants series Matt Kemp will forever be one of my favorite players.
In case you didn't feel like watching the video, it appears as if someone has told...
An autograph wasn't enough.
To boost the spirits of a sick fan during last week's Giants series in San Francisco, Dodgers slugger Matt Kemp rewarded the fan with not only an autographed baseball, but Kemp's game jersey and shoes.
See the heartwarming video below:
Adrian Gonzalez exited Wednesday’s game against the Arizona
Diamondbacks with a neck strain while slipping on a foul ball, Steve Dilbeck of
the LA Times reports,
#Dodgers confirm Adrian Gonzalez left game in fifth after aggravating strained neck. Currently on the ever popular day-to-day list.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed utility man Jerry Hairston Jr. on the 15-day disabled list with a strain to his left groin. The move is retroactive to May 6th. Taking his spot on the parent roster is utility man Elian Herrera who was recalled from their Triple-A Albuquerque minor league affiliate. There is no time-table set for Hairston’s return.

Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp decided to make a Bay Area fans night following a game against San Francisco Giants, giving the kid an autograph then going the extra mile by [...]
JUUUST A BIT OUTSIDE
Since I can barely keep up — meaning not in the least bit — with the current trendsetters in American pop music, I must admit that I have never heard of Tiffany Hwang, nor am I familiar with her nine-member, all-girl super-group, Girls’ Generation. While Girls’ Generation initially made its mark on the global pop charts from its home base of South Korea, Hwang was born and...
Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp goes beyond the call of duty with a Dodgers fan battling some tough times. Kemp jogs over to the front row fan and initially signs a baseball, Kemp then practically strips down giving the fan every piece of memorabilia possible. Great show of class on the part of Kemp.

As baseball has been the one constant through all the years, as quoted by James Earl Jones in the movie “Field of Dreams,” the one constant through all the years for the San Francisco Giants has been their starting pitching. From their first World Series victory in 2010 to their latest in 2012, the position players have vastly changed with the exception of one, Buster Posey...
The Los Angeles Dodgers entered the season with lofty expectations thanks to a high-priced and star-laden roster. The injury-plagued club, however, is last in the NL West and on the verge of its longest losing streak in nearly five years.
Los Angeles will try to avoid that dubious achievement when it faces another cellar dweller, the more frugal Miami Marlins, in Friday night'...
Paul Goldschmidt hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer in the ninth inning off closer Brandon League and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Dodgers 5-3 on Tuesday night, sending last-place Los Angeles to its sixth straight loss.
League (0-2) walked Gerardo Parra to open the ninth and struck out Didi Gregorius. Goldschmidt fouled off five full-count pitches before driving his seventh home...
