But he gave him the special treatment, preferring to tell him over dinner rather than calling him into the office as he did with the others. “He was disappointed I didn’t bring him in to cut him,” said Bruce Bochy, the  manager. “I may do it tomorrow just to make him feel better.” To be honest, the younger Bochy didn’t have a chance of sticking around away, so it wasn’t really much of a surprise.
