According to San Francisco Chronicle reporter John Shea, San Francisco Giants prospect Drew Stiner has been suspended by Major League Baseball for 50 games after Stiner tested positive for amphetamines.

Giants minor league catcher Drew Stiner was suspended for testing positive for an amphetamine. Stiner was the Giants 43rd draft pick out of Owasso High School in Oklahoma. The Giants signed him to an overslot bonus on the day of the signing deadline. Stiner was the catcher for Orioles first round pick Dylan Bundy and has shown good defensive skills behind the plate.

Yes, the Giants are following the lead of the Hagerstown Suns and plan to give away 20,000 of these Brian Wilson garden gnomes May 20th. In the third installment of our position-by-position breakdown we take a look at second base. The right side of the Giants infield continues to be a question mark going into 2012. It's been a slow offseason for the Giants, but, fortunately, that word doesn't apply to the work Buster Posey's done this offseason.
Neither does "fast," but that's OK. "Steady" is probably most accurate, as Posey's rehab is right on schedule.
