Most of my posts are about guys the Giants do sign, but this one’s to let you know about a player the team says it won’t go after.
According to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, outfielder Yoenis Cespedes will not be putting on the orange and black anytime soon.
The Giants had previously been rumored to possibly be in on Cespedes, who defected from Cuba...

If standing in line for three hours to get an autograph is your thing, then no doubt you had a great time at the San Francisco Giants’ annual FanFest today.
I went the past two years and I can tell you from my own experience, it ain’t all that.
Today’s event drew an estimated 36,000 fans, most of them wearing Panda hats and Tim Lincecum or Buster Posey jerseys....

Tim Lincecum said the two-year contract he reached with the Giants is where he and the team "found the most common ground" and he fully expects future conversations about a longer term contract that would buy out his free-agent years.

I appreciate the chance to ask the questions because I realize that not every team does this.
So some quick notes:
Bruce Bochy uses more technology than Brian Sabean but that still isn't saying much because it is limited to his iPad....

The Mets rotation, for better or for worse, is set for 2012: Santana (or replacement), Pelfrey, Dickey, Gee and Niese. The Mets also look between the end of this year and 2014 to add several young pitchers, like Familia, Harvey, Wheeler and maybe Mejia.
So I wonder if the Mets could benefit from what will be a crowded All-Star pitching Free Agent market next season. With Edwin Jackson...
