The San Francisco Giants have signed outfielder Angel Pagan to a one-year, $4.85 million contract.
Pagan was acquired by the club last month in a trade with the New York Mets for outfielder Andres Torres and relief pitcher Ramon Ramirez.
The 30-year-old Pagan is expected to take over in center field for the departed Carlos Beltran, who signed with St. Louis during the offseason.
Pagan hit .262 with seven home runs and 56 RBIs last season with the Mets.
