Pro Sports Daily:
Andres Torres returned to the San Francisco Giants Thursday, after agreeing to a one-year, $2 million guaranteed contract, according to CSN Bay Area. The deal is pending a physical. Torres could platoon with Gregor Blanco in left field. Torres, 34, played for the Giants from 2009-11, and had his best season in 2010, when he batted .268 with 16 homers, 43 doubles and 26 steals. He was dealt to the New York Mets for Angel Pagan last offseason, and hit .230 in 374 at-bats. With the Giants, he'll join an outfield that includes Pagan, Hunter Pence and Blanco.

Andres Torres is returning to the San Francisco Giants, who gave the outfielder his first chance as a regular two years ago.
Torres signed a $2 million, one-year contract Thursday with the reigning World Series champions. He passed a physical to finalize the deal, the Giants said.
''Great to have him back!'' manager Bruce Bochy wrote in a text message. ''...
Two blog posts for the price of one.
Andres Torres is back. I’m surprisingly non-conflicted about this.
I’ll be honest, considering how popular he was with a few female friends of mine, I wasn’t all THAT upset to see him leave in the Angel Pagan trade last season. I mean, I liked him well enough, that he was one of those scrappy players who jumped up for the Giants, and...
This afternoon at the New York Mets holiday party in Citi Field, R.A. Dickey told reporters he would test free agency after the 2013 season, if he does not sign a contract extension with the club this off-season. Which R.A. said would most likely mean he will not be back in 2014.
“If that’s the decision they feel like is best for the club, and that’s the decision that they...
I think most Met fans are tired of the saga of R.A. Dickey. I know that I am. I fully agree with the reports that once Hamilton signs (hopefully with Texas) the Mets and their potential dance partners will have a better idea of the scope of the dance floor. (Trade Floor) The most likely suitors appear to be the Rangers and Dickey would be in some ways coming home to the team...
The words seared into my consciousness.
I previously defended Sandy Alderson, thinking as a hired gun his job was to pare payroll and ease the Mets’ financial strain, which he did.
However, there is no defending what he said yesterday at the Mets’ Annual Christmas party, one where they asked R.A. Dickey to dress as an elf.
I usually applaud honesty, but this time it would have...
According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, free agent Scott Hairston says the Mets remain in the mix, but a multiyear contract will be required to return to Queens.
“Things are starting to pick up now that the market is settling in,” Hairston told ESPNNewYork.com. “Still unsure where I’ll sign, though. There are a lot of trades happening around the league, so it’s possible...

The New York Times’ Ken Belson reports that despite finishing below .500 again, the Mets have raised single-game ticket prices for nearly every seating category, regardless of whether it is for the most expensive dates like opening day and the interleague series against the Yankees or for less appealing matchups early and late in the season against less popular teams.
The drama has been played out in the public, it’s been the talk of sports radio,ESPN and print media and it is reaching the point of where do both parties go from here? The Mets are happy for everything that R.A. Dickey has done for them for the past 3 seasons. R.A. Dickey is happy that the Mets took a chance on him when no one else would.

The Toronto Blue Jays and New York Mets are close to agreeing on a trade that would send Cy Young award winner R.A. Dickey to Toronto, according to major league sources.
The Mets have been working on parallel tracks with Dickey for weeks, negotiating a contract extension with him while also holding trade discussions. In recent days it became apparent that the Mets had received at...

The Toronto Blue Jays Have pulled into the lead to land Mets starter R.A. Dickey. Andy Martino of the New York Daily News reported on Twitter that trade talks intensified yesterday, and Ken Rosenthal and Jon Heyman are now reporting that the Mets have said they have an acceptable trade offer in hand, but are looking to try and increase the offer if possible.

According to sources of MLB.com’s Anthony Dicomo’s, Dickey will remain a Met for at least one more night, citing that a deal is unlikely to be completed this evening.
Keep it locked, as the news on this could change...
