After playing 24 games for the Rays early in the season while Jose Lobaton was on the disabled list, Durham catcher Chris Gimenez is patiently waiting for his next chance to prove himself in the big leagues. Despite a less-than-ideal showing in his first stint with the big club, Gimenez is optimistic that he'll get the call again and is making sure he is ready should the opportunity arise again.

Tampa Bay Rays to appeal 8-game suspension of RP Joel Peralta

The MLB handed down an 8-game suspension of RP Joel Peralta today stemming from his pine tar incident on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals this week. The Tampa Bay Rays announced that they will be appealing the suspension, but I have to ask, why? Will the team win the suspension? No. Why prolong the eventuality? The ejection of Peralta from Tuesday night’s game...

Different Fish to Fry: Rays come to Philly

The last time the Tampa Bay Rays were in Philadelphia, this was how the final out looked. (Photo courtesy of ProSportsBlogging.com) We all remember it vividly.
