Found August 02, 2013 on Bronx Pinstripes:
The Yankees have officially announced that Curtis Granderson has been activated from the disabled list prior to tonight’s game with the Padres. Outfielder Melky Mesa was optioned to Triple A Scranton, and Thomas Neal was designated for assignment. Granderson is making his first appearance since May 24th, when he broke a bone in his pinky that required surgery. He had only been back for eight games after missing the first month and a half with a broken bone in his forearm. On the season, Grandy is 7-for-28 with a homer and an RBI. Granderson is in the lineup batting fifth and playing left field tonight. He should get regular time in the outfield once the Yankees return to American League parks, with Alfonso Soriano seeing time as the DH. Hopefully for Granderson this time around, he can stay healthy and avoid getting hit by pitches.

A-Rod hints at contract conspiracy

Alex Rodriguez was asked about his pending legal troubles and hinted that the Yankees would like to see his contract flushed away.

Yankees tie series with Dodgers, fall back in standings

This short stint in Los Angeles delivered plenty of late inning drama as the Yankees and the Dodgers split a two game series where the Dodgers had more reason to celebrate as they moved into the record books with their win on Tuesday. The Dodgers walked off in the 9th inning on Tuesday after Mark Ellis (.281) hit a single off Shaw Kelly (3-1), scoring Andre Either. This win gave...

The Yankees were visiting Los Angeles for an interleague series with the Dodgers which gave us a rare chance to hear Vin Scully call a Yankees game.  Last night, the Yankees were up 3-0 in the 9th which meant a chance to hear the greatest announcer in the game call the game's greatest ever closer on his grand retirement tour.  Thankfully, MLB has made the entire bottom of the...

Alex Rodriguez says he's fighting for his life. Brian Cashman failed to bring in a bat at the trade deadline yesterday, but it wasn’t due to lack of effort. Phillies GM Ruben Amaro Jr. just wasn’t having any of it, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports. According to Heyman, Cashman and Amaro spoke on the phone around 3 pm yesterday – an hour before the deadline. Cashman offered to send a prospect AND pay the remaining $5...

Even if A-Rod is banned for life, the Rangers still owe him more than $40 million
