Greg "Steroid" Anderson - True Friend

FlyMaster's Blog:
In the wake of the Barry Bonds indictment rumors began flying that his trainer and potential key prosecution witness, Greg Anderson, had turned stool-pigeon on the Home Run King after spending multiple stints in prison for refusing to testify. This was not the case as Anderson's lawyers have stated that their client has not and will not testify against Barry Bonds. For his dogged loyalty to his friend and his "F you" attitude to the Feds, Greg Anderson wins the first annual "FlyMaster Man of the Year Award."
Loyalty is a trait that cannot be overstated. It is the cornerstone of friendship and provides insight into one's character. As despicable and repugnant as steroid trafficking and cheating in sports are, it is uplifting to see friends stick together. Many a great caper has been foiled by lack of loyalty and belief in one's accomplices, but not the Bonds-Anderson connection. Nope, these two remain locked in devious harmony. We'd all be so lucky to have friends that stuck by us even in our darkest moments. Indeed, Anderson made the ultimate sacrifice by going to prison for his friendship. How many of your friends would do that for you, and how many would you do that for? The combined answer is probably zero. That's what make Greg Anderson the Man of the Year. Agree or disagree with what he's done with regards to supplying steroids to Mr. Bonds, it remains undeniable that Anderson's moral compass on the issue of friendship points due north. As myopic as it may seem, being a self-sacrificing friend makes Greg Anderson okay in the FlyMaster's book.
