Wolf says Brewers focused, with blinders on

Brewers veteran Randy Wolf first broke into the big leagues in 1999, with the Phillies. At this point, he's a veteran of 14 spring trainings. So, when Wolf assesses a Cactus League season, it carries some weight. Thus, Milwaukee fans should be pleased when they hear Wolf describe the vibe around his clubhouse as "positive." According to the 35-year-old lefthander, the...

Brewers have full confidence in rotation

Most preseason predictions have the Milwaukee Brewers finishing second or third in the NL Central, perhaps penalizing the defending division champs a little too heavily for the loss of All-Star first baseman Prince Fielder. After all, the Brewers have perhaps fewer weak spots in their lineup than last year and -- most important -- one of the major leagues' best front-to-back...

Dillard's confidence increasing with Brewers

Tim Dillard has enjoyed an eventful spring, highlighted by his recent run-in with comedian Frank Caliendo. "I just took one look at him and started laughing," Dillard said of Caliendo. "He was amazing. He came in and was doing impersonations in the clubhouse -- that guy's good." Truth be told, Dillard does some solid impersonations himself, like the spot-on...

Brewers Beat Southsiders as Bats Come Alive in 13-7 Win

Late in Spring Training it appears that the bats are clearly ready for regular season play as Milwaukee took care of the Chicago White Sox by a score of 13-7.  It was a good thing the bats were working as starting pitcher Zack Greinke had easily his roughest outing of the Spring, going just three innings.  Greinke had most of the damage done to him in his second inning of work...

Report: Hart cleared, likely for Opening Day

Recovering surprisingly fast from two cartilage tears in his knee, Brewers right fielder Corey Hart appears as if he will be in the Opening Day lineup. According to multiple reports, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told the media Monday that Hart was cleared by doctors and will play seven innings in the Brewers' two exhibition games Tuesday and Wednesday at Chase Field against...

D-backs meet Brewers again at Chase Field

PHOENIX -- The last time the D-backs played at Chase Field it was against the Brewers, who went on to win Game 5 of the NL Division Series in Milwaukee, ending the D-backs' season. With the Brewers in town once again, the D-backs are reminded of how they fell short in 2011. "We owe them," Arizona manager Kirk Gibson said before Tuesday's game. "They got us...

Corey Hart had two hits, including a double, in his spring training debut for the Brewers, but Milwaukee lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3 on Tuesday night at Chase Field. Hart underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on March 6. Alex Gonzalez had three hits, including a two-run home run, for the Brewers. Brewers starter Randy Wolf threw four innings and allowing one run on two...

Block already loves working with Uecker

Joe Block has paid some serious dues on the way to landing his first full-time major league play-by-play gig with the Milwaukee Brewers, who hired him Dec. 23 to succeed Cory Provus after Provus took the same job with the Minnesota Twins. Over the past eight seasons, the 33-year-old Block was the voice of the Jacksonville Suns, Great Falls White Sox and Billings Mustangs. That led...
