Hall of Giants: Class Nine

We are now getting down to the nitty-gritty, the point where yours truly has to play bad guy and say, sorry fellas, that’s it, the door is closed, at least for now.       I went through “The Giants Encyclopedia” and wrote down every player and pitcher with 5 or more years with the team.   Since the book was published in 1999, I looked at Baseball Reference for the gap up to the current season. This produced a list of about 100 players (obviously I ignored those already chosen).  For each of these players, I wrote down their Average WAR (my new favorite toy) with the Giants.  I decided to eliminate those with 1.9 or less.   With this, some of your, and some of my favorite players, or ones we took a liking to, and ones that created life long memories, are not going to make my Hall of Giants.   This is the tough part (makes me feel like a bouncer at a Giants reunion party).    At the same time, some mig...
