The November 20th, 2012 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim including Angels meet with Fujikawa, wondering if the Angels be better off without Greinke and much more...
The Story: The Angels hosted Japanese closer Kyuji Fujikawa for a visit yesterday.
The Monkey Says: This was expected as Fujikawa is meeting many teams right now. Hopefully this means that he will make a decision in the near future. which appears to be the case since he has also reportedly narrowed down his list of suitors from ten to five. Whether the Angels made the cut is unknown.
The Story: Alden Gonzalez thinks the Angels might be better off not signing Greinke and instead signing two second-tier starters.
The Monkey Says: Yeah, they might be better off from a financial sense, but I'm not sure their better off on the field because then they are relying on Jered Weaver and C.J. Wilson to defy the aging curve to lead the staff, neither of which seems terribly likely. Not signing Greinke seems like the perfect recipe for the Angels to return to their ways of being perfectly satisfied just winning the division and flaming out in the post-season, only now the AL West is so tough that it will probably mean the Angels would be damning themselves to just barely missing out on the playoffs every year.
The Story: Mike Trout's rookie season was one for the ages.
The Monkey Says: You know that already, but it is a slow news day, so I figured a little Mike Trout porn would serve as good filler.
