The January 22nd, 2013 edition of daily news for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim including Trout accepts RoY award, the 2002 Angels bullpen one of the best ever and much more... The Story: Mike Trout formally accepts his AL Rookie of the Year award. The Monkey Says: Public speaking is not one of his five tools.  I'm a bit disappointed in him for not taking a jab at the BBWAA for screwing him over in the MVP voting, but I guess he had to go and be all classy and junk. The Story: The 2002 Angels bullpen ranks as the 7th best ever according to Buster Olney. The Monkey Says: And just imagine how much better it could have been had K-Rod been on the team for the whole season. The Story: Predicting a Mike Trout sophomore slump without any real evidence. The Monkey Says: Welcome to my newest crusade, and apologies to this poor sap that wrote this garbage I linked to, which is people predicting a Trout sophomore slump for no real reason other than "because."  I have yet to see anyone offer real evidence that Trout is going to regress.  It is all just hunches based on the premise that nobody could possibly be that good again.  So, please, I beg you, if you want to say Trout is going to come back to earth in 2013, give me real evidence.  Maybe like his more mortal numbers the final two months of the season or... I don't know what else because I can't find anything short of the potential for someone finding real kryptonite that would sap him of the powers given to him by Earth's yellow sun. [follow]
