ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) -- Josh Hamilton hit two more home runs, Yu Darvish struck out seven and the Texas Rangers beat the Los Angeles Angels 10-3 in a rain-interrupted game Friday night when C.J. Wilson faced only five batters against his old team.
Both of Hamilton's solo homers came after a one-hour, 56-minute rain delay in the first inning when the Rangers went ahead to stay against Wilson (4-3), their No. 1 starter last season who left in free agency after their second consecutive World Series appearance.
Hamilton had three hits and his second multihomer game this week. The other was Tuesday night in Baltimore when the slugger became only the 16th player in major league history with four in a game.
Unlike Wilson, Darvish (5-1) returned after the rain stopped. The 25-year-old Japanese right-hander, signed by the Rangers after they let Wilson go, worked into the sixth. His 93rd and final pitch came four hours after his first one.
The game ended just after midnight local tim...
BEST OF MAXIM
If you think outfielder Josh Hamilton will sign a contract that sufficiently protects the Texas Rangers from any injuries and relapses that he might suffer, think again.
Hamilton need not make concessions when he likely would receive a massive, fully guaranteed free-agent contract if he stays reasonably healthy and productive.
Besides, the collective bargaining agreement addresses...
THE GREAT HAMBINO
Josh Hamilton has been absurdly hot for the Rangers, so one of Oakland's pitchers cracked a joke about facing the slugger.
Reportedly, the Rangers declare great interest in signing Josh Hamilton to a contract extension. Naturally, expressing such interest comes straight from the “GM for Dummies” handbook. If the club fails to appear genuine with this interest, then Team Hamilton (represented by agent Michael Moye) has every reason to use the “disrespected and unloved” approach...

Josh Hamilton is playing out of his mind. The crazy thing is, what he's doing has nothing to do with luck; he's just that good. His talent level is so far above most major leaguers that it's borderline absurd. This is what I imagine the game of baseball looks like through Josh Hamilton's eyes right about now...
Joe touched on it this morning, but Hamilton has more...

For all the fretting about the Texas Rangers re-opening contract discussions with Josh Hamilton, his extraordinary and power-hitting performances, the 16th major leaguer to drill four home runs in one game against the Orioles the other night, should earn him a raise in his salary. Rest assured, he’s the No. 1 Power Ranger, like Tommy, the Red Ranger.
If Hamilton is your American...
Baseball is amazing isn't it? Watch it long enough and you're bound to see things rarely accomplished or even things that have never been done before. This past week at Camden Yards in Baltimore, the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles provided some additions to baseball's record books with feats that have only happened a handful of times in the game's history.Power...
Well another week in the 2012 MLB Season is in the books, and so far each one brings more excitement and drama than the last.
And this week history was made both good and bad.
First, the Yankees are learning what life is like without the greatest closer in the history of baseball. Losing Mariano Rivera to a torn ACL and a newly discovered blood clot did not just take a toll on Yankees...
Things are going pretty well for the Texas Rangers right now. They're the owners of the best record in Major League Baseball (21-11) and perhaps the best player in the game as well in Josh Hamilton. However, even the best of us trip up every now and then. And that's quite literally what they did in Baltimore on Thursday.Trailing 6-1 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh...
