The DFW sports headlines from the weekend were likely all about Josh Hamilton — he had some interesting quotes Friday, requested extra security for his family on Saturday and made some gestures to the outfield crowd tonight — but he was pretty much a non-factor on the field.  He had three hits in tonight’s game, but before that, he was hitless with four strikeouts.  Honestly, I wouldn’t have been among the fans booing his return over the weekend, but I wouldn’t have been the person in the outfield with the “We love you” sign either. I was ready for Josh to leave before he actually left, and I don’t miss him at all.  Especially not after this weekend series and all the drama he brought to it.  If other people want to boo Josh, I don’t care, but I’d rather focus on the guys wearing Rangers uniforms. And they’re giving us plenty to cheer about.  Tonight’s game was the first one I actually got to see, and I had to go to a bar to do it.  But that wasn’t a big deal.  I actually enjo

Hamilton denies using obscene gesture

ARLINGTON, Texas Fans in right field at Rangers Ballpark had a long weekend of heckling Josh Hamilton in his return to Rangers Ballpark. Hamilton said some of the fans crossed the line, but he also had fun with it too. He played like he was throwing a football in reference to his football town comments this spring. But did he take things too far by making an obscene gesture...

Hamilton not happy with familys treatment

ARLINGTON, Texas Josh Hamilton's return to Rangers Ballpark didn't go so well on the field or in the stands for his family. While Hamilton said his family was fine, there was a security guard around his wife Katie and their daughters. "Just guys being ugly, inappropriate to my wife," Hamilton said. "People being dumbasses." A Los Angeles club official...

Fans Go Too Far; Josh Hamilton's Wife Calls Security at Game Friday

This is one of those stories that you hate to hear about, bit sadly are becoming all too common in sports these days. Katie Hamilton, the wife of Angels 'slugger' Josh Hamilton, felt the need to call for security Friday when her husband's new team took on his old team. Apparently the fans were not just giving her husband a hard time, but were yelling things at her...

Josh Hamilton Has a Few Words for Rangers Fans

Josh Hamilton returned to Arlington on Friday and did about as well as could be expected with a pair of strikeouts as the Rangers went on to win 3-2. The fans gave him the kind of reception they thought he deserved, and after the game that was one of the things that he was asked about. However, what I love about his interview is his subtle little message for the fans in Texas...

ARLINGTON — Los Angeles Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton says his wife had to call for security before his first game against the Texas Rangers because fans of his former team were shouting obscenities and personal insults at his family. Josh Hamilton Gets Booed, Says it’s the Loudest he’s Ever Heard Rangers fans

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Josh Hamilton, returned to Rangers Park for the first time since his acrimonious departure following last season, and he was booed quite loudly by the fans. Hamilton had four very productive seasons with Texas before signing a 5-year $125 million contract with the Angels, but incurred the ire of Rangers fans when he said that Dallas...

Learning to love Josh Hamilton

When the Angels signed Josh Hamilton I knew it was going to be tough. Tough on Hamilton to meet expectations. Tough on the front office to prove signing Josh was a smart decision. Tough on the fans to embrace a former enemy. Tough on me just to figure out how to deal with Hamilton's presence and all that comes with it. As a general rule, I try and keep my own personal opinion...

Hamilton can't deliver against former team

ARLINGTON, Texas Nobody knows what a Josh Hamilton slump looks like better than the Texas Rangers. That's why the Rangers intentionally walked Albert Pujols, batting in front of Hamilton, three times on Saturday. Hamilton failed to deliver all three times the Rangers issued a free pass to Pujols. He struck out twice and flied out to left, dropping to 1-for-20 for the season...

Josh Hamilton's return to Rangers Ballpark didn't go so well on the field or in the stands for his family. While Hamilton said his family was fine, there was a security guard around his wife Katie and their daughters.

Josh Hamilton Booed in Ranger Home Opener

I’ve never been so ashamed to be a Ranger fan. The Texas Rangers opened their home season to a sellout crowd who were anxious to see a familiar face in the visitors’ dugout. The LA Angels are almost as hated as the Yankees in these parts, so it was fixing to be a memorable home opener. Unfortunately, most of the fans forgot about the 142 homers Josh Hamilton hit during his time...

Pujols propels Angels past Rangers

Albert Pujols homered twice to offset another tough day for Josh Hamilton in his second game back in Texas, and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Rangers 8-4 Saturday. Pujols hit a two-run shot to the lawn in center field off Matt Harrison in the first inning and watched Hamilton strike out twice and fly out behind him after taking three intentional walks. The only other time the...

AngelsWin.com & STNTV Presents... Los Angeles Angels Weekly

By Tad Dixon, AngelsWin.com | STNTV  - The LA Angels opened 2013 with a win, but lost 4 of the next 5 after that. On the bright side, backstop Chris Iannetta put up the kind of numbers in a week that Jeff Mathis would take half a season to compile. Unfortunately the big bats came up small. When asked about his struggles against his two former teams (Red and Rangers) Josh Hamilton...
