It took a walk-off again Sunday but the Reds swept the three-game series from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Zack Cozart singled with one out in the ninth off Ronald Belisario. Ryan Hanigan shot a double into the left-field corner. Cozart scored easily to give the Reds a 3-2 victory before 34041 fans at Great American Ball Park and a national television audience on ESPN. Hanigan was mobbed at second. "That felt good" Hanigan said. "Belisario is tough. He tries to get guys out with that sinker. I was looking for it and I got the head out on it. It was one of those games. It went the way we expected. Quality pitching both sides. Low-scoring game. "That was an awesome way to win. We're playing good ball right now." "Guys are excited" Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "And they should be. We've just got to keep going forward." The sweep -- the Reds won all three games by one run -- came after the Reds opened the homestand by taking three of four from the St. Louis Cardinals. "The last two series have been pretty damn good" starter Homer Bailey said. "The way we're playing right now -- I guarantee if we asked any of you all if we're going to win six out of seven against St. Louis and L.A. -- you probably would have said it's not going to happen. But we did it. Two great series from us." The Reds are a season-high 20 games over .500 at 82-62 and in a virtual tie with the Pittsburgh Pirates for second place in the NL Central -- 1 1/2 games behind the Cardinals. Jay Bruce hit a pair of long home runs to right. The pitching matchup between Bailey and the presumptive Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw was a draw. Bailey went seven innings and allowed two runs on six hits. He walked none and struck out nine. Bailey continues to roll. Over his last five starts he's gone 35 1/3 innings and allowed six runs (1.53 ERA) on 22 hits. He's struck out 37 and walked six.
