With the signing of their new shortstop Jose Reyes, the Miami Marlins might be forced to trade their old one, Hanley Ramirez. New reports have come out saying that the Marlins are looking to trade Ramirez, but even newer reports have said otherwise. Ramirez has said in the past that if the Marlins signed Jose Reyes, he would rather be traded than move to third base. The Marlins obviously want Ramirez on their team, but if they are forced to move him, should the Detroit Tigers pursue him?
Trading for Ramirez would likely deplete an already weak farm system, but it still might make sense for the Tigers to make a push for Ramirez. The Tigers already have a shortstop in Jhonny Peralta, but he has moved to third before and would most likely do it again to make room for Hanley Ramirez on the roster. With Cabrera, Santiago/Raburn, Ramirez, and Peralta, the infield would immediately go from a weak point to a strong point.

Reyes to Miami Great Theatre, Lousy Baseball
Jose Reyes, the anticipated new shortstop for the Miami Marlins, is a very talented man. He is a formidable force offensively, despite not possessing a level of patience that you would hope for in a leadoff hitter, and though he commits too many errors for a tenured player his range and power arm allow him to influence games defensively to a sometimes dramatic degree.
He is, then...

Now that the Mets have lost out on the Jose Reyes sweepstakes the big moves can begin, or not.
