To continue on with their busy Tuesday, the Diamondbacks re-signed pitcher Aaron Heilman to a one-year deal. The veteran righty will get $2 million, according to Jack Magruder of FoxSportsArizona.com. Heilman declined the teams arbitration offer earlier this offseason after making $2.15 million in 2010. This signing does come as a bit of surprising considering how Heilman struggled towards the end of the last season out of the bullpen and how no one expected him to be back after declining Arizona’s arbitration offer. He posted a 4.50 ERA in 72 innings out of the bullpen last season after starting off the year strong. Heilman will be fighting for a rotation spot more than likely against Zach Duke and Jarrod Parker. He last started a game back in 2005 with the Mets and came up through New York’s system as a starter.
