TEAMS:
Washington Nationals
You know the famous quote: "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture"?
Well, if you're tuning into the Nationals-Astros game tonight, the photo above, via @patrickboylan, and photo below, via LizTexas should be considered as our best attempt at dancing about architecture. We have no audio of the guy who has been screaming like a drunken Texas banshee on crack the entire game, but at least we've set eyes on him.

Gio Gonzalez hits first HR, throws complete game win, earns shaving cream pie
And so, Edwin Jackson delivered a shaving cream pie to the face of Gio Gonzalez during Gio's postgame interview with MASN's Kristina Akra. Gio not only threw a complete game for the win (a huge lift to a completely gassed bullpen), but also got a bubblegum shower upon his return to the dugout after his first career home run. Pretty nice little Tuesday for Nat Gio. More...
Of course these kids traded Gio Gonzalez's first career HR ball for two Bryce Harper autographed baseballs
Thanks to the magic of Kristina Akra on MASN last night, we learned that some kids ended up with Gio Gonzalez's first career home run ball, then traded it for a couple of baseballs autographed by Bryce Harper. Of course they did.
And here's the guy who almost threw Gio's HR ball back onto the field; thankfully he gave it to the kids.

Nats Talk On The Go: Episode 30
The Washington Nationals just finished a game with one of the most bizarre endings you'll ever see against the Houston Astros, and there's a lot to talk about. We hit the Kurt Suzuki trade and its affect on the team and the pitching staff, the Cesar Izturis signing, Tyler Clippard's recent struggles, and Ross Detwiler's continued improvement. Craig also happily admits...
Nationals 3, Astros 2(12)
Danny Espinosa hit a two-run homer early, and his RBI single in the 12th inning lifted the Washington Nationals to a 3-2 win over the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
Michael Morse was 0 for 4 when he doubled to start the 12th inning and extend his career-high hitting streak to 16 games. He was replaced by pinch-runner Cesar Izturis, who was making his first appearance for Washington...
Angel Hernandez loves Bryce Harper, you just wouldn't know it from his strike zone
So what happened in the sixth inning last night, with Bryce Harper at the plate with the bases loaded, two outs, and a 3-0 count? Just umpire Angel Hernandez being Angel Hernandez, inserting himself into the game yet again by calling three straight balls, strikes, against Harper. Angel's strike zone was all over the place all night long (at one point it was even spotted getting...
Video: Watch the Astros become the Bad News Bears
Relive the magic of the 11th inning of Monday's Nats-Astros game, when Kurt Suzuki bunted, two Astros collided, another Astro dove over the pile, someone threw the ball away into right field, Roger Bernadina ran through Bo Porter's stop sign, another Astro airmailed the throw to the plate, Bernadina scored (the game winning run), and Suzuki ended up on third base. On a...

Izturis, who has seen time at all four infield positions this season, was claimed by the Nationals who needed depth around the infield with shortstop Ian Desmond on the disabled list and Mark DeRosa (groin) day-to-day. Izturis is in the final year of his contract...
