The Detroit Tigers are going to have some serious laundry on their hands as a result of the massive blood stain that Miguel Cabrera sported on his pants this afternoon in a game against the Twins. Miggy appeared to have cut himself open just above the right knee/thigh area on a dive earlier in the game that wound up significantly bloodying his pants.

The Detroit Tigers Miguel Cabrera suffered an injury in his final at bat of Tuesday’s 6-4 loss against the Minnesota Twins.
Tiger’s manager Jim Leyland told the Associated Press via the Miami Herald that Cabrera’s first swing in the 9th inning against Glen Perkins is the one that did him in.

At first glance of the boxscore, Daisuke Matsuzaka was who we thought he was. And there was no way that Miguel Cabrera would let him off the hook. Dice K gave up two home runs including a three run shot to Cabrera that tragically landed in somebody's pierogies in the Acela Club, and the Mets predictably lost to the Tigers 6-1.
Considering that Daisuke's outing was peppered...
With a long (long) blast down the third-base line in New York's Citi Field -- off the just-called up Daisuke Matsuzaka, no less -- Miguel Cabrera has given us the second thirty-second trot of the 2013 season! Way to go, Miggy!
The trot officially clocked in at 30.94 seconds.
Here's how it came about:
Cabrera stepped up to the plate in the second inning with...
DETROIT -- Home-run sluggers make headlines, and batting averages have defined hitters dating all the way back to Detroit Tigers immortal Ty Cobb.
The Triple Crown statistic that musters the least attention and acclaim is runs batted in -- the RBI or ribbie, in the vernacular of the game.
Most of the games outstanding hitters, however, will tell you that the RBI is the most important...
Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera sustained what could be another injury as he tries to become the first to win baseball’s Triple Crown in consecutive seasons. Cabrera looked to have aggravated a previous injury according to manager Jim Leyland. Whether or not the injury is new, Leyland confirmed to the Associated Press following Tuesday night’s game that Cabrera was in pain […]
Third baseman Miguel Cabrera is out of the starting lineup for Detroit's game against the Cleveland Indians.
Cabrera has been bothered by a strained left abdominal wall for more than a month. The reigning AL MVP made an early exit from each of the Tigers' last two games.
Cabrera leads the majors with a .359 average and 130 RBIs, and his 43 home runs put him four behind...
74-53, 1st place, 5 games up.
“WAR – What is it good for?”
Well, evaluating players, for one thing. Or so we think.
As we all know, the WAR debate dominated the MVP race last year, with Cabrera and his old school hitting stats (summarized as “the best right handed hitter in our generation”) beat out the sabre-favorite Mike Trout and his 1st to 3rd ability and low GIDP...
It would appear Glen Perkins has yet to check out despite the Minnesota Twins' ailing season.
The way he finished off the best hitter in professional baseball Tuesday, such a course of action remains highly unlikely.
Two days after Tigers triple crown repeat candidate Miguel Cabrera beat fellow American League Central Division foe Kansas City with a walk-off homerun, Perkins...
While Miguel Cabrera won't let a few nagging injuries slow him down, Justin Verlander should be more than ready to continue his recent dominance of the Minnesota Twins.
As Cabrera deals with his ailing body, Verlander looks to avoid a third straight winless outing Thursday against the visiting Twins.
Plagued by groin, abdominal and hip issues, Cabrera still delivered a three...
Detroit Tigers: 73-51, 1st Place (6.5 ahead of Cleveland). Best record in the AL.
Taking 3-of-5 from Kansas City was nice (sorry, Cleveland, but KC seems the the bigger threat right now), but after being swept in both games of the double-header–and held to 1 run and 6 hits–it was very nice indeed. All the better that the two series ending wins were driven off the bat of Miguel...
Detroit Tigers star Miguel Cabrera is dealing with another injury as he attempts to become the first player to win baseball’s Triple Crown in consecutive seasons. The team’s third baseman appeared to be in pain after swinging at a pitch in his ninth inning at-bat. He struck out with
INVISIBLE MONSTER THICKBURGER!!!
I don’t know if any of you assholes are paying attention to the Yankees right now (quietly getting back into the wild card race!), but every little news nugget coming out of New York recently is major LULZ. The FACT that Alex Rodriguez is still playing, playing well to boot, getting thrown at constantly, having his lawyers publicly run smack about...
NEW YORK (AP) -- Miguel Cabrera hit a three-run homer, Torii Hunter also connected and the Detroit Tigers tagged Daisuke Matsuzaka early in his return to the majors, beating the New York Mets 6-1 on Friday night.
Hunter added a long, two-run double and Doug Fister (11-6) pitched into the seventh inning to help Detroit win the interleague series opener. Austin Jackson went deep for...
Before Friday’s game Tigers outfielder Torii Hunter sat by his locker in the visiting clubhouse studying video on his iPad of Mets starter Daisuke Matsuzaka.
Hunter was cramming to prep for Matsuzaka who signed a one-year contract Thursday and was named Friday’s starter after spending the season with the Indians at Triple A Columbus.
Hunter’s studying paid off as he went...
