Drafted in the 47th round by the Los Angeles Angels of Aneheim in the 2005 MLB Draft, Loman has always been considered a bit of a raw prospect. But considering that big size he has, the potential has always been there. Since coming to the White Sox organization before the 2009 season, he's been very consistent and productive all throughout the minors. Dating back to 2006, he actually has an impressive 115 minor league home runs; not too shabby for someone who wasn't expected to ...

Player Profile #54: Alejandro De Aza | OF | CHW

Alejandro De Aza was my unanimous sleeper target last year. In every mock draft I did, every actual team I drafted, and every “your fantasy time can’t exist without these players” piece I wrote, De Aza was there. He certainly didn’t disappoint. For the price of a 200-something pick, De Aza delivered top-100 numbers. Given his role as a speed-first leadoff hitter, his nine...

Player Profile #66: Paul Konerko | 1B | CHW

In 2010 and 2011, Paul Konerko topped the 100-RBI mark for the first time since 2006, giving him six 100-RBI seasons in his 14 years as a full-time player.Last season Konerko saw his RBI total fall by 30 despite amassing just 40 fewer plate appearances. He still batted .298 on the season while clubbing 26 homers, but his .158 ISO with men on base paled in comparison to his .211 mark...

Adam Dunn vs Ryan Howard - Who Would You Rather Have?

As mentioned in our position rankings, First Base has become a deep, dominant position again.  With tons of young talent to choose from, its hard to draft an ageing power hitting first baseman.  But to fill in the UTIL, DH & CI positions, these old school, all or nothing hitters can really help you fill out that HR, RBI and BB categories.  Yes, they strike out a ton, but...
