St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday could miss the least two weeks of the season with a hand injury, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. Holliday felt pain right in the underside of his right hand while taking practice swings in the on-deck circle during the ninth inning of Tuesday's win at Pittsburgh. He did not take his turn at bat. Holliday does not believe any bones are broken but is not sure what is wrong. "I'm concerned," Holliday told the newspaper. "I've never done anything like before. You hope it's just a bruise or something and maybe it's a couple of days or a day." Holliday is expected to be examined when the Cardinals return to St. Louis on Wednesday. Losing Holliday would be a major blow to the Cardinals (80-68), who are 6 1/2 games behind first-place Milwaukee in the National League Central Division and 4 1/2 behind Atlanta in the race for the wild card with just 14 games remaining.
