By Tara Rowe Having dominated the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Braves arrived in Los Angeles ready to face the team leading the National League in wins. They got off to a rough start behind now demoted Jair Jurrjens, but they salvaged two games of the series with the help of now 40-year-old third baseman Chipper Jones and continued pitching brilliance from Mike Minor and Brandon Beachy. The Braves left Chavez Ravine having taken 2 out of 3 from the red hot Dodgers. Not bad for a team that got off to an 0-4 start. The Braves had 24 hits in the 3-game series. Game 2 showcased a 3-for-3 night for rookie Tyler Pastornicky who had been on the bench for three games. And game 3 included a 2-for-3 night for the slow-starting Dan Uggla, including 2-out RBI. The offense may not have scored as many runs in L.A. as in Arizona, but they continued to get hits and often from the most unlikely of places. Your browser does not support iframes. Bourn sending Braves to win column

Michael Bourn is doing exactly what the Braves hoped and certainly thought -- he would. He's hitting and darting and dashing and tracking down everything hit in Atlanta's 404 area code. Bourn is the Braves' first true leadoff hitter in seven years and their best center fielder since Andruw Jones waved goodbye to Atlanta in 2007. And he's playing like it. In large...

GIFcap: Dan Uggla Dives To Catch Ball Then Rolling Judo Tosses Tyler Pastornicky

A wonderful play by Dan Uggla, but it’s far from the best part. After catching the ball, Uggla proceeds to drive his right knee into Tyler Pastornicky‘s gut and right shin into his groin, then completes a rolling judo throw by using his right hand to grab Pastronicky’s left shoulder and send him flying. Note

Pirates-Braves Preview

The Atlanta Braves' offense is back in gear following the team's worst start in 24 years. The Pittsburgh Pirates' pitching staff could change that. Atlanta looks to match the best seven-game start in Turner Field's 15-year history Friday night when these clubs begin a four-game series. Since batting .165 with 10 runs during an 0-4 start - the club's worst since...
