So spring training has started and hope springs eternal, right? This year the Royals are starting over, AGAIN. I dunno, how many rebuilding plans is this now since David Glass took over? I lost count long ago. This time the Royals are serious about rebuilding. The team has the youngest roster of all the 30 MLB teams in spring training. The roster is bulging with 65 players in camp right now with spots open all over the place. The team needs starting pitching terribly. Gil Meche retired and left $12 millin on the table. Zach Greinke was traded! Yea the Royals traded there fan favorite and Cy Young winner to the Brewers for three guys-Lorenzo Cain,who could be the starting cfer, Alcides Escobar who will be the starting ss this year and replaces Betancourt at the position. The third player is reliever Jeremy Jeffress who will be on the team most likely.So what else is new? Well the Royals signed former Braves Jeff Francoeur and Melky Cabrera to one year contracts.
