Houston Astros Are the Best Team in Baseball—At Least for One Night: Expectations are low for the Houston Astros in 2013, but for at least a night they are the best team in baseball. Your browser does not support iframes. The game was the only game of the night; the official opener for the 2013 season making it quite likely that baseball fans eager to get their first fix of regular season action were tuning in. Neither team was necessarily ‘their’ team, but the first game of the season is still the first game of the season. How can you not watch? Some would say it would be easy not to since the Houston Astros are expected to be the worst team in baseball yet again. It is unclear just what the Texas Rangers are going to look like this year without slugger Josh Hamilton, Michael Young, or Mike Napoli in the lineup. Those that did tune got a reminder of why the game of baseball is such a great game. (For the full post follow the above link to MVPTexas.com!)

Rapid React (4/1): Bud Norris Comfortable at Home

The 2013 baseball season is finally underway!Last night we were all “treated” to what could be baseball’s new greatest rivalry—Texas vs. Houston. April fools! Year two of Yu begins Tuesday night

HOUSTON Yu Version 2.0 makes his 2013 Tuesday night against the Houston Astros and big things are expected from Yu Darvish in his second season in the majors. Darvish, who did everything the club expected of him as a rookie, has a comfort level this year that he didnt have to start his rookie year in the majors. That could make for some very long nights for Texas opponents. I...

Astros take the lead in AL West

Don’t look now, but the new kid on the block has all the toys. In their first season in the American League West after moving over from the National League, the Astros took sole possession of the division after a season-opening 8-2 win over the Texas Rangers. No one picked the Astros to finish higher than last in the AL West this year, and with good reason. They are by far the...

Hamilton: 'Texas is home. I love Texas'

Josh Hamilton will return to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on Friday for the first time since signing with the Los Angeles Angels. The 2010 American League MVP still calls Texas home, however, Rangers fans probably won't be giving him a warm homecoming welcome when he comes up to bat. Hamilton was a guest on the Mike & Mike in the Morning radio show Monday on 103.3 in Dallas...

New-look Angels provide unique Cincinnati opener

Josh Hamilton is back where it all started. The outfielder got a standing ovation for his pinch-hit appearance at Great American Ball Park on opening day 2007, a moment that completed his comeback from years of drug abuse. He'll get another grand introduction on Monday when his new team, the Los Angeles Angels, opens against the Reds. It'll feel a bit like home. '...
