This will probably be my only Astros post of the year, so enjoy it.
The Orioles and Astros have worked out a deal that will send Houston starting pitcher Bud Norris to Baltimore in exchange for outfielder L.J. Hoes, left-hander Josh Hader and a Competitive Balance Draft pick right before the non-waiver Trade Deadline on Wednesday.

Bud Norris has been scratched from his start by the Astros tonight, and Jeff Passan just relayed this on Twitter:
Sources: Bud Norris very likely to be dealt today, and Pittsburgh could be landing spot. Package built around Tyler Glasnow makes sense.

It's not clear to me whether or not Passan has knowledge of a potential...
There is not a whole lot going on with the Houston Astros that is good these days. Management seems intent almost on making the team the living embodiment of the Charlie Sheen-led Cleveland Indians from the movie Major League. Show you skills that will one day require paying you and your shipped out of town!
Good thing is the trade deadline is gone now and there is still some...
Houston Astros pitcher Bud Norris has been scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday night against the Baltimore Orioles.
The team declined to immediately provide a reason for the move, but the right-hander has been the topic of trade speculation. A team official said Norris had not been dealt yet.
The non-waiver trade deadline is Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Lucas Harrell replaced Norris...
Deadspin's great Sean Newell writes: "During Thursday's BP, Astros reliever Travis Blackley (captured below) was hit in the head with a ball in center field. He suffered a contusion over his left eye and was questionable for the game."
He did not pitch.

While the Houston Astros are saddled with the worst record in major league baseball (5 games worse than next closest team), there are reasons to believe they are turning the corner. Not the least of which was the recent call up of 22-year-old IF Jonathan Villar, one of the prospects resulting from the multi-year sell-off of veterans (in this case Roy Oswalt).
Villar flashed some...
The Houston Astros have called up Jewish relief pitcher Josh Zeid. Zeid pitched for team Israel in the World Baseball classic. He threw 2/3 of an inning last night walking one batter. Mazel Tov to Zeid! Read MORE here.
From Brian T. Smith of the Houston Chronicle comes word that the Astros have released Carlos Pena who was designated for assignment 10 days ago.
Pena was batting just .209/.324/.350 with eight home runs and 25 RBI in 85 games this year for the Astros and he hit .197/.330/.354 in 160 games last year for the Rays. But he still owns a cool .813 career OPS and could draw some interest...
Yasiel Puig isn’t the only MLB rookie trying to make headlines. The speedy Jonathan Villar is quietly making a difference for the Houston Astros. As CBS Sports reports, Villar stole home in last night’s game against the Orioles. Watch video of Villar, who has only played 8 major league games, make an exciting play in the top of the 3rd inning:
To add insult to injury, it was...
Rookie left-hander Brett Oberholtzer allowed three hits over seven innings to earn his first major league win, Jason Castro hit a grand slam and the Houston Astros beat the Baltimore Orioles 11-0 Wednesday night.
Matt Dominguez homered and had a career-high four hits for the Astros, who built a 9-0 lead in the fourth inning and coasted to their most lopsided victory of the season...
It looks like Bud Norris of the Astros will be suiting up at Camden Yards ... for the Orioles. According to reports, Norris will join the team as the non-waiver trade deadline inches towards a conclusion.
ESPN reported: "The Baltimore Orioles have acquired starting pitcher Bud Norris from the Houston Astros for minor league outfielder L.J. Hoes and another prospect, a team...
Astros’ ace Bud Norris was scratched from his start Tuesday amid trade rumors, and a late addition to such rumors are the Diamondbacks. The MLB.com beat writer for the Astros, Brian McTaggart, says a source has told him three teams are showing a lot of interest in the 28-year-old, the Diamondbacks, Orioles, and Pirates.
The Baltimore Orioles pulled the trigger on a deal as the deadline drew to a close acquiring pitcher Bud Norris from the cellar dweller Houston Astros. The 28-year old Norris has 5 years of major league experience under his belt all on the bump with the Astros. The former 6th round pick boasts a respectable 6-9 record with a 3.93 earned run average pitching for the worst team in...
The Baltimore Orioles have acquired right-hander Bud Norris from the Houston Astros to help bolster a rotation that will be without injured Jason Hammel for what could be an extended period.
The Orioles are sending outfielder L.J. Hoes and left-handed prospect Josh Hader to the Astros in a deal agreed to moments before Wednesday's non-waiver trade deadline.
Hammel is being...
The Pirates don’t seem to be aggressively pursuing Bud Norris.
A few rumors on the Bud Norris front just came out. Jayson Stark says the Astros seem to be collecting final offers and that the price is still high.
#Astros seem to be collecting final offers on Bud Norris. Price still high. #Orioles still interested. One dark horse could be #SFGiants

The non-waiver trade deadline passed at 4 p.m. ET with a handful of moves at the end a number of teams that held tight for no good reason and an epic trade of Bud for Hoes and a Hader. Thanks to that deal all of us were winners.
In the spirit of objective analysis however we present as a complement 10 more winners and 10 losers in no particular order from the deals that were done...
