The Sox and Jays split a two-game set in mid-September at Fenway. Tim Wakefield gained his 200th career victory in game one of the series. Pedey and Ellsbury each went 4-for-5 with a homer in the 18-6 game 1 rout. John Lackey pitched in the game 2 loss, enough said.

This time

Laser Show: Jon Lester, David Ortiz, & Adrian Gonzalez

Jon Lester pitched well on opening night, and pitches well against the Jays. In 18 games against the Blue Jays, Lester is 10-4, with a 3.06 ERA, and 106 K's. David Ortiz and Adrian Gonzalez looked pretty good in the last series and I like their odds against Blue Jays pitching, especially in Toronto. Ortiz has 29 career home runs at the Rogers Centre, more than any other venue aside from Fenway. Gonzalez has a career .341 average in Toronto, with 8 homers, 18 RBI, and an OPS of 1.147. I like those numbers. Pitch Around: Jose Bautista
Jose Bautista only has a career .214 batting average against the Sox, but he has hit more homers against the Red Sox than any other team in his career. His 16 career homers against the Sox is enough to avoid pitching to Jose. Don't Fall Behind: Anyone We saw the offense come alive in the final game of the Tigers series. The offense needs to build up the confidence of the starters, especially early in the game. Jump on the Toronto starters early and give the Sox starters something to work with.
How we see it goin' down

Sox pitching didn’t look too hot in Detroit and we are not sure what Doubront and Bard will bring. I think it will be a series full of offense with the Sox getting back on their feet and coming out on top twice. It should be a good series.
