The Red Sox dropped the first two games before salvaging the final game of the series.  Jon Lester lost his first game of the season after giving up 5 runs in the first 2 innings, which the Sox were obviously unable to rebound from. There was not much action at the plate in the second game, as the White Sox took that one 3-1, and the two teams combined for 11 hits. Finally, the Red Sox were able to put a bunch of singles together and walk 8 times to beat the White Sox 6-2 in game 3.  The White Sox were slightly better at that time. This time Laser Show: Shane Victorino & Jacoby Ellsbury Shane Victorino is 17 for his last 39 (.436), with 5 homers and 13 RBI over that time. He was huge in the Baltimore series ( .545, 3 HR, 9 RBI), especially in game 1 (2 HR, 7 RBI). He is on one hell of a hot streak. Jacoby Ellsbury is not on a streak like Victorino, but his last 3 games were very impressive. Ells went 7-for-12 against the birds, with 3 stolen bases. You have to love what he is doing at the plate and on the bases right now. $$$ Pitch Around: Adam Dunn...I guess He obviously strikes out A LOT, and his average is exactly where it always is. He is still a threat to hit homers with his 30 this season, but he is also an easy out. Just don't give him something near the strike zone and he'll swing and miss. Don't Fall Behind: Hector Santiago Santiago is pitching well as of late and can get into a good rhythm and shut good offenses down. Don't let his losing record fool you, he pitches for the White Sox, so a losing record is a given, no matter how good you are. How we see it goin' down Chicago has been winning a lot lately. They took 3-of-4 from the Twins, swept the Royals, 2-of-3 from the Rangers, and 2-of-3 from Houston. The Rangers series win is the most impressive and concerning. Even though they have a terrible record, they are putting together one impressive string of series wins. I was initially thinking the Red Sox would sweep, then I thought they would take 2. Now, I am back to a Red Sox sweep of the other Sox and I feel good about it.
