Despite another bad outing on Thursday the Houston Astros have no plans to remove Philip Humber from the starting rotation. Humber has a 7.99 ERA on the season after allowing 15 runs over his last two starts.
The Astros picked up Humber in November after he was placed on waivers by the White Sox. White with the White Sox the right hander had a perfect game on April 21. Since then he has a 7.52 ERA.
Houston lacks many options for replacing Humber which has aided his stay in the rotation. Humber is not alone in his struggles in the Astros rotation. Erik Bedard (6.17) and Brad Peacock (7.50) have also struggled.

yesterday that the injury will sideline Maxwell for four to six weeks.

If indeed John Farrell was hired by the Red Sox to get Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz straightened out, then consider the process to be a smashing success so far. One night removed from Lester's 4th win of the season, Buchholz dominated the Houston Astros 7-2 to become the 1st 5-game winner in the Major Leagues this season.

How bad are the Houston Astros, you ask? They made Ryan Dempster look like Clay Buchholz tonight as Boston cruised to an easy 7-3 victory.
The Red Sox had no trouble trouble at the plate or on the mound tonight. Their 5 pitchers combined for 14 strike outs, and they amassed 17 hits and 4 home runs with their bats.
The Houston Astros played their first game in Fenway Park as a member of the American League, and they may not want to remember much of the game. Red Sox hitters jumped all over Phil Humber early, plating 4 runs in the first inning. While the offense may have missed some speed with Shane Victorino currently out and on a day to day basis they did not let this slow them down. Pitching...
The Houston Astros were welcomed for the first time to Fenway Park as an American League team, and the Red Sox did not give them a warm welcome.

Mike Napoli has had a historic month already with the Red Sox, and it’s not even done yet.
The Red Sox first baseman leads the major leagues in RBI, extra-base hits and doubles entering Saturday night’s game against the Houston Astros, and he broke the Red Sox team record for extra-base hits in a month on Friday. The most impressive part of his exploits, however, might be that...

Game 22: Red Sox 7-2
The Houston Astros are in town, and the Red Sox really need to put a hurting on this team to show they are a serious contender. Many past Red Sox teams have really struggled versus weak teams, and the Astros are, by definition, the weakest team in the American League. It actually took me a while to remember that Houston is actually now an AL team, as they have...
8 a.m. ET: The Red Sox responded to a good old-fashioned beatdown by bouncing back and grinding out a 6-5 win over the Athletics on Wednesday. Now, the Sox’ focus turns to the Astros, who arrive at Fenway Park on Thursday for the start of a four-game set.
Houston, in its first year in the American League West, figures to have a difficult season ahead. The Astros are a very young...
