Hunter Pence could have a future as a pastor. Since Game 3 of the National League Division Series, the Giants outfielder has delivered inspirational pregame messages to teammates in a group huddle. The team credits Pence's sermons to rallying back from a 0-2 hole against the Reds. Giants third-base coach Tim Flannery lauded Pence's speeches and documented some of the emotional messages. Before Game 1 of the NLCS against the Cardinals, FOX cameras caught Pence firing up the Giants with an angry speech. So much so, the team has nicknamed the outfielder –– who came in via trade by the Phillies midway through the season –– "The Reverend" for his sermons. In Game 1, however, the Giants lost to Cardinals, 6-4. Sounds like Pence –– who went 1-for-4 in the opener –– could be primed to deliver his most passionate message yet. But you can't blame his hunger to succeed. Before the 2011 season, the 29-year-old had never played in a single postseason game, considering h...

Tim Lincecum is set to start Game 4 of the NL championship series for the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, as long as he's not needed in relief for Monday night's Game 2.
Manager Bruce Bochy said before the game that Lincecum told him he felt fine to pitch again Monday after throwing two hitless innings in Sunday night's 6-4 Game 1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. But...
San Francisco Giants second baseman Marco Scutaro left Game 2 of the NL championship series after five innings because of an injured left hip, the result of an earlier hard slide by Matt Holliday.
The Giants said Scutaro was undergoing X-rays Tuesday night.
Holliday singled in the first inning for the St. Louis Cardinals and then barreled into Scutaro while breaking up a double...
The boos rained down as loud as any heard in this postseason, and that includes those heaved in Alex Rodriguez's direction. These boos were reserved for Matt Holliday, though. The St. Louis Cardinals' outfielder slid hard into second baseman Marco Scutaro of the San Francisco Giants in the first inning of last night's game. He was making a baseball play - trying...

Listen, I understand why Giants manager Bruce Bochy is upset.

That said, all those livid with Holliday should have...

SAN FRANCISCO -- Carlos Beltran is used to having success in the postseason. Just don't expect him to know why. Beltran's 14th home run in 29 career playoff games was the key to the St. Louis Cardinals beating the San Francisco Giants 6-4 in Sunday's Game 1 of the best-of-seven National League Championship Series. "It's hard for me to explain," said...
