Found June 30, 2012 on IT IS HIGH, IT IS FAR, IT IS caught:
I predicted yesterday before Warren's start that his performance would be "disappointing."I predicted that he would not leave the game with 8 innings of two hit ball behind him, and no more than one run yielded.  That he would not be like all the AA and AAA fill-in starters the Yankees occasionally face, who shut us down as if the Yankees were fielding a high school soft ball team.I predicted he would go 41/3 innings and give up 5 runs.I was wrong, and I admit it.  I was way off.He went 2+ innings and gave up 6 runs.  A total bust.Put him on the bus to nowhere and throw away his name plate. He is just another failure of our minor league system.  Where the Yankees are slipping to the worst rated player inventory ( read; minor league players ) of all the major league teams.  The truth hurts;  every time we actually let play a "touted " prospect, said prospect bombs. Ivan Nova being the one recent exception. But watch Phellps, and then DJ Mitchell.  They will suc...

Yankees' Nova picks up for injured starters

Ivan Nova was on his way to his 10th win of the season Thursday night, only to watch the New York Yankees' bullpen blow his lead in the ninth. Still, with CC Sabathia out for at least two weeks and Andy Pettitte on the shelf until September, Nova's superb outing against the White Sox was a promising sign for the Yankees and their rotation. Nova threw 7 1/3 innings of one...

Jeter passes Ripken for 13th on career hits list

Derek Jeter hit a leadoff double in the first inning Friday night for his 3,185th hit, moving past Cal Ripken Jr. for 13th place on the career list. The 38-year-old Jeter grew up watching the former Baltimore shortstop and has often been likened to the Hall of Famer, playing the same position and spending his entire time with one team. Right after the milestone hit against the...

Derek Jeter gets hit by pitch in slo-mo

During Saturday afternoon's sweltering matinee in Yankee Stadium, Derek Jeter turned to avoid getting hit in the jewels by an inside pitch and— when replayed in slow-motion— it kind of looks like he was doing the Watusi or some other dance from the '60's. Whether or not Jake Peavy's fifth-inning throw was intentional, Jeter just shook it a little more and took...

Cano carries Yanks past White Sox

Phil Hughes fought the 95 degrees on the thermometer with zeros on the scoreboard. Hughes pitched eight efficient innings, Robinson Cano hit a tiebreaking two-run homer after wasting a chance with the bases loaded his first time up and the New York Yankees again rode the long ball to a 4-2 win Sunday over the Chicago White Sox for a series split between division leaders. '...

The Yankees Finally Do The Right Thing.

If you look carefully, you'll see a former Yankee fraud prospect named, Warren, sitting with hands folded in his lap, just behind the driver's farting ass.Well deserved.Out of town.  Out of my line of sight.

Celebs ring in Jeter's birthday

Injuries sidelining Yankee stars Andy Pettitte and CC Sabathia didn't dampen Derek Jeter's 38th birthday celebration in New York. The Yankee captain was joined by teammates Curtis Granderson and Andruw Jones at Southern Hospitality in Hell's Kitchen on Wednesday night. "Entourage" star Kevin Connolly, the Knicks' Carmelo Anthony and rap mogul Sean Combs...

Column: Baseball survives without instant replay

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By TIM DAHLBERG AP Sports Columnist This wasn't Little League, so Dewayne Wise wasn't about to fess up. Sportsmanship only goes so far when you're wearing pinstripes and playing in Yankee Stadium. Wise sold the third base umpire just by diving into the stands to catch a foul ball. For good measure, he held his glove in the air in triumph and gave...

White Sox rally to beat Yankees

Addison Reed knew Yankee Stadium's reputation for swallowing up easy flys for home runs. He also knew Derek Jeter had a knack for coming through in the clutch. So when Jeter sent a sharp liner to right field, the White Sox closer hoped the ball would stay in the park and that Alex Rios would have space to make the catch. Rios did, with no room to spare. Rios banged into the...

BP Unfiltered: Just Forget About Match-Up Stats by Ben Lindbergh

In the first inning of Sunday's Yankees-White Sox game, Robinson Cano grounded into a double play off Gavin Floyd. In the third inning, he worked his way into a 3-1 count. Here's what happened then: That's an ugly swing, especially in a hitter's count. Cano certainly thought so. That prompted this exchange between YES Network broadcasters Michael Kay...

Yankees-Rays Preview

With two regulars missing from their rotation, the New York Yankees could sorely use some better performances from Freddy Garcia than the last time he was in the rotation. A visit to the struggling Tampa Bay Rays might help Garcia ease back into a starting role and enable the Yankees to end their seven-game skid at Tropicana Field on Monday night. New York (48-30) suffered two...

Yanks Acquire Chad Qualls

To make room for Quallls on the 40-man roster the Yankees have designated Matt Antonelli for assignment. The 33-year-old was 1-1 with a 4.60 ERA in 35 games for the Phillies this season. In 31.1 innings, the right-hander allowed 16 ER on 39 hits, walked 9, and struck out 19.
