On Friday, Nick Swisher hit two homeruns in the game and last night it was Ichiro Suzuki's turn to hit two bombs in a game.  Beckett allowed 4 runs and two of them were solo HRs from Ichiro.  Those 4 runs were more than enough for Kuroda who has probably been the Yankees best pitcher this season.  The Sox lost another series and are now 7.5 games back of the 2nd wild card spot.

Beckett continued his trend of giving up at least a run in his first inning.  Beckett gave up a leadoff double to Jeter to start the game and then gave up an RBI double to Granderson to bring Jeter home.  Sox 0-1.  In the 3rd, Beckett gave up another double to Jeter and then walked Siwsher.  The Yankees pulled off the double steal and while Jeter was on 3rd, Beckett threw a pitch that Lavarnway wasn't able to handle and Jeter came in to score the 2nd run of the game.  Sox 0-2.  In the 4th, Ichiro hit his first homerun of the game to put the Sox in a 0-3 hole.   In the 6th, Ichiro decided to have some deva ju and hit another HR to right field again.  Sox 0-4.  Pedro Ciriaco was a Yankee killer the night before and clearly Ichiro was a Beckett killer last night.  The only run that the Sox were able to get on the board against Kuroda was a solo HR in the 7th from Adrian Gonzalez.  That was Gonzo's 15th HR of the season and he's continued to look locked in at the plate.  Beckett was out of the game after the 6th inning and his line for the night was 98 pitches, 6 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 BB and 6 Ks.  Beckett was followed by scoreless innings from Andrew Miller and Junichi Tazawa.

Beckett wasn't horrible, but he clearly wasn't good enough.

Red Sox 1 Yankees 4 BOXSCORE
