On Tuesday night, Bryce Harper forgot to mention the Yankees in the same Tweet as Dallas, Duke, and the Lakers (via @BHarper3407). Good news.
But more importantly, Davey Johnson continues to make perfect sense on the topic of the possibility of Harper starting the 2012 season in Washington. Here's Davey, via Thomas Boswell/Washington Post:
“Harper is going to be competing in the spring. That will speak volumes,” Johnson said. Shouldn’t Harper be brought up in midseason, like Stephen Strasburg, so he will become a free agent a full season later in his career?
“I never get involved with contracts. That’s their decision. I make my recommendation on what makes the best ball club,” Johnson said. “But you can shoot yourself in the foot making decisions just for contract reasons” (Davey Johnson, via Thomas Boswell/Washington Post, 11/30/2011)

In today’s installment of the five biggest surprises on the Washington Nationals roster we take a look at Wilson Ramos and his impressive breakout season.

With reports on Friday of Stan Kasten partnering with Magic Johnson and rich guy Mark Walter in an effort to buy the Dodgers, one has to wonder if Stan had already started organizing Phillies fan party busses to LA for the Dodgers-Phillies series starting July 16? 2,700 miles...

In the final installment of the five biggest surprises on the Washington Nationals roster, we take a look at the team's MVP: Michael Morse.
Entering the 2011 season, there was no doubt that NatsTown expected big things out of Morse, who hit .289 with 15 HR and 41 RBI in just 266 at-bats in 2010. There was no doubt that Morse would get much more playing time in 2011 than in...
With news of Nats' serious interest in Cuban CF Yeonis Cespedes and reports of a private workout with the Nationals in the Dominican on Tuesday, now seems as good a time as any to revisit the bizarre and amazing Yeonis Cespedes Showcase video, which made the rounds everywhere a few weeks ago. But did Cespedes do some of those 1300 lb leg presses with Mike Rizzo sitting on top...
Washington Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo is an avid traveler. He rarely misses a road series when the Nationals are in season, and Rizzo has been racking up the frequent-flyer miles this offseason as well. On the short list since the season ended, he's taken his act to St. Louis ...
In a few months, there will be lots of quotes and blog posts and columns and blind drunk fan speeches about whether the Nats can contend for the 2012 playoffs.
Might as well get an early start, though. Here’s Michael Morse, when asked on SiriusXM’s MLB Roundtrip whether the Nats, as presently constituted, can win the NL East.

Here it is: the final weekend before baseball's winter meetings begin Monday in Dallas. It's been more than a month without any baseball and it'll be just over two more before the Washington Nationals pack up and head down to Viera, Fla. to start the 2012 season anew. As for ...
