The Cleveland Indians activated designated hitter Travis Hafner from the 15-day disabled list prior to Sunday's series finale against the Chicago White Sox.
Hafner has been sidelined since Aug. 21 with a strained right foot. It was originally feared that he would undergo season-ending surgery, but doctors cleared him to start a running program last week.
The 34-year-old Hafner is batting .282 with 11 homers and 49 RBIs in an injury-plagued season.
