Indians Release Scott Lewis

The Indians have released lefthander Scott Lewis, tweets Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. The 26-year-old had a 2.12 ERA with an 18/4 K/BB ratio in 17 innings for Triple-A Columbus this year, so it doesn't seem like recent performance factored into the move. Lewis made five starts for the Indians over the last two years, winning four games in as many outings back in 2008. Baseball America ranked him as the team's 21st best prospect as recently as last year. I suspect he won't be out of a job very long.
